Rainy Retreat is ideally located close to all that Rainy Lake has to offer! With over 2,500 islands, 929 miles of shoreline, and 227,000 acres, on Rainy Lake you will never run out of things to do. Explore Voyageur National Park, just a short 5 minute boat ride from Rainy Retreat, or a 10 minute car ride to the Voyageur National Park Visitors Center. Also, just a short 5 minute boat ride away are several lodges offering boat gas, food and drinks. For the ultimate Rainy Lake/Voyageur National Park adventure, consider boating to Kettle Falls or into Rainer for an ice cream cone, locally brewed beer at Loony's, or a delicious cocktail/mocktail at the Cantilever Distillery.

World class fishing also awaits those interested in trying their luck on Rainy Lake's famous walleye and small mouth bass. We can put you in contact with local fishing guides as well!

Amazing house. Perfect for a family visit to the National Park. The house is newly updated, clean and well stocked. Access to the lake provides a nice place for fishing or bringing a boat in. The layout of the house for space for everybody both inside and out. Only disappointment, There was not enough hot water for the bath tub use.

Great spot

The house worked well for our group - two couples and three kiddos. It had everything we needed for cooking in and all the spaces to relax in and out. We rented a pontoon boat which we appreciated docking at the rental for making exploring voyageurs national park easy. We really enjoyed the trip and the cabin was great!

This was the perfect getaway, beautiful views, close to the park. House is spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The kids especially loved playing down by the lake. We were all sad that we couldn’t stay longer.

Rainy Lake Christmas Stay

The property was wonderful. The layout was perfect for our family. It was fully furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a slight hiccup with check in. We were sent the wrong door code but we contacted the host and the problem was taken care of.

Perfect Fishing Lake House

Wonderful large open home, brand new appliances, everything that you could hope for. Brand new boat dock access right there to the lake kept our boat there for the week. Walk out the back door to your boat go fishing come right back fillet your fish right there next to the dock. My whole family had a wonderful relaxing time.

Perfect for families and fishing trips!

What a beautiful and cozy home to get away to. My husband, father-in-law and I come to I-Falls every year to fish and visit the extended family. We loved the house. The kitchen is well-stocked. Craig is super responsive and accomodating, even added a food processor based on a brief conversation. The view is spectacular, and sunrise on the deck was the perfect way to enjoy my coffee in the morning. The fireplace in the living room was a very appreciated feature when we got caught in a downpour with hail while we tied up the boat! Plenty of room for a large family, and a superb master bathroom with soaking tub. The only thing my husband and I wished was different would be to have a door between the master bedroom and bathroom, for a bit more privacy (and smell insulation lol) while using the bathroom.

Amazing, beautiful and relaxing!!

We found the home to be well furnished, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The lake views were gorgeous. The deck was a favorite hangout spot. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed with both major and small appliances. We were joined by our son and daughter-in-law and they loved it and want to go back again.

Voyageur Exploration

Recently remodeled home with views to a Canadian lighthouse was the perfect location for our family's exploration of Voyageur National Park. Craig was able to provide a lot of useful information about the area and even suggested a pontoon rental that was only a seven minute drive. Highly recommend this home which would be able to accommodate larger groups than our family of four. Thank you Craig, we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful lake view

This home has an amazing view with a perfect location on Rainy Lake. A short boat ride takes you to three restaurants. The home is spacious with plenty of room for the whole family. The living room gas fireplace warmed the cool rainy nights and back porch couches made a great spot to read. The kitchen was a cooks dream yet limited dishware. This is a lovely home for a family vacation in the northwoods.

relaxing by the lake

This house was a great fit for our family. We loved fishing and swimming off the dock and watching the sunsets. Craig was very responsive to questions and helpful with suggestions. The house was clean and open. We visited Voyageurs NP (a short drive to the Rainy Lake Visitor Center), shopped in town, and had lunch in Canada. I would definitely recommend this house for a fun time on the lake.

10 out of 10!!! A beautiful place in every way! Fantastic deck and view, especially the sunset! Craig was very thoughtful and helpful making our stay everything we could have expected and then some! Our whole family would highly recommend this property!

Stunning Views

This was a perfect mid week escape! The property has up to date features including a great kitchen with all necessary equipment. Loved the grill! We were on the dock every night for sunsets and it was the perfect view. Have already mentioned to friends that if we make the trip up north again we will be renting here again!

Amazing property and hosts. We were a family of 5 (3 kids, two adults). Property was perfect sized for us (and has plenty room for more). Right on the lake with a private dock. We rented a pontoon and could park it at the dock. Communication with the host was seamless. No issues. 10/10 family vacation.

Perfect!

We were looking for a place to enjoy Voyageurs National Park but also have our teens (15 &12) and my parents stay. This home delivered! It’s beautifully renovated and very spacious. We canceled the two dinner reservations we had in favor of using the grill and expansive kitchen - the appliances are top of the line. We enjoyed the deck and the dock- the views were amazing. We loved it and plan to go back! Thank you Craig for the personal welcome- so easy to communicate with and made the stay perfect!

A Terrific Family Trip

What a beautiful home on a scenic lake! The owners remodeled the whole house recently and everything is brand new. If you reach for a pot, a bowl or a plate they all look brand new. They also included everything you could possibly use from Krups coffee, pancake griddle, wine glasses and even a blender. The house is laid out well and six people were very comfortable and everybody found somehting they really enjoyed. The deck is spectacular and the U shaped couch on the deck is very comfortable and they have an awesome fire table. Craig (host) helped us immensely with suggestions on pontoons, restaurants, pizza, hiking trails and genuinely wanted our family to enjoy our trip at their house. I wouldn't hesitate to rent again and am hoping we can schedule another great trip up to Rainy Lake. Thanks Craig & Karen.
