"I booked this room for one night with my two young children to attend a sporting event nearby. The hotel is situated very near to the railway station and above a very noisy pub. The room itself is very basic which was fine for our one night stay and we appreciate there is little to be done about the outside noise however the window was broken we had to wedge it shut, this didnt help with the noise volume. "To start out I want to be clear that this is a lovely little cottage, that had a good amount of space on the ground floor. The staircase is exceptionally steep being an old cottage, they are not easy to navigate with luggage etc. The cottage is on the main road through the area, so you do get a bit of road noise, but it's not a massive issue. The main challenge for me is that the listing on expedia is a completely different location and very misleading. The property is not in Shrewsbury like...

"Great hotel in a nice area. Car park is a little tight and first come first serve but the ncp car park is literally opposite this hotel. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had, we also had dinner in the restaurant which was amazing. My only complaint was the people above our studio room where thundering around which was noisy but I’m not 100% sure if that belonged to the hotel as we had to exit the hotel and go round the corner to get to our room (studio 45)"

"The Prince Rupert is centrally located on Butchers Row - lovely shops and pubs close by as well as the Cop and the English Bridge and the Dingle. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially front desk staff and our wonderful server at breakfast. She didn’t miss a beat and we enjoyed her. We requested an upgrade and our Queen Charlotte room was beautiful. Strongly suggest mini fridges in the rooms."

"The bar downstairs is fun, noisy & lively. The bedrooms right above are the same. So if you don’t want a DJ in your bedroom until midnight, stay elsewhere. They provide ear plugs in the rooms, so draw your own conclusion. The breakfast was nice k the location was great, very central."

"Lovely country stay"

"Worst hotel experience ever. The wifi doesnt work properly. There's no signal so you cant use your data. The staff dont clean your rooms. There elevator is broken. There is no AC. The hotel serves no food. Sometimes there is no parking. The room is dirty. I saw spiders hiding in the room. Worst experience ever. I will not be coming here again and I do not reccomend it to anybody. Its not worth the price."
