Our room had a balcony on the front overlooking the bay which was lovely, the balcony is open to the adjacent rooms, we found it surprising that smoking was permitted on the balconies, which was not appreciated, but you find in Guernsey smoking outside in public areas seems to be permitted/the norm?! "Big spacious hotel with good amenities, great breakfast choices and friendly staff. Loved the free use of the spa facilities during our stay. The room furniture is dated and with no room aircon so it can get hot at night but that’s the only criticism."

Although, it's a little way out of town, it has a good size car park, a complimentary mini bus service, that goes into town twice in the morning and returns twice a day and a bus stop virtually opposite the entrance. "It’s just really lovely at Les Douvres, the breakfast is great and the rooms are comfortable. The bar is excellent and the staff are outstanding. If the hot weather continues I think they’ll have to succumb to air conditioning. But other than that brilliant!"
