"The property is a historic residence converted for hospitality. It's lovingly restored with modern facilities comfortable for westerners while still feeling like you're in historic Japan. The owners were amazing with coordination and really friendly. Would definitely go back and would stay longer next time!"

"We were glad we rented a car to get around. You need to have reservations for dinner or you will not be able to eat. Lastly, make sure you ask for instructions on how to run the hot water on for showering, I figured it out, but it took a while. The house is beautiful and great for families with young kids, they have a play room for kids."

"Stayed here with wife and two kids. Our room was very nice and clean, and staff was really friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious. I'd just point out that, given that the bathrooms are located outside the rooms (each room gets its own private bathroom, but they're all down the hall), it feels more like a hostel than a hotel, so keep that in mind. "
