"This hotel was booked by my elderly mother in error (we were in Tobermory, Scotland and booked in Tobermory, Canada). We were stranded on an island with limited electricity during a storm and needed a place to sleep that same night. Within 30 minutes we noticed the mistake and notified the hotel. After several hours of calls and emails we were told that a 7 day cancellation policy applies and that we would lose all of the money. We had planned on this from previous comments about chef and food, however had to adopt alternative measures . In small town Iron Bridge there was only 1 other restaurant choice which was closing within 20 minutes of our check in at 6:30 pm , leaving only a small gas bar/general convenience store for basic meals. The proximity to Trans Canada highway, lower rates...
