Nice, but ā¦
The house is lovely, has a homey feel and is well appointed ā but is a work in progress. The outdoor and basement areas were unkempt with tools, tractor, building debris, etc. Many of the owners personal items were in drawers, dirty shoes and coats in the laundry room, etc. As well, there was a lot of visible dust on pictures, around the fireplace, and on the Christmas decorations still up in October. The home has a lot of large nice windows ā but were all very dirty to the point that we had to personally wash the ones that look over the lake. The listing shows a view of the lake. But it only shows one side of the lake. The other side is all old dilapidated buildings - some vacant and some occupied. This was not disclosed in the listing. Most disturbing however was that there was a neighbor who would chase our cars screaming profanities as we drove up to the house. This did not feel settling at all and created a frightful environment. What we suspect is that the area is under going a transformation and will be all beautiful someday. In the meantime, please understand that this home stands out as an anomaly of the quality of homes in the area. The owner was very quick to respond to any issues we had ā and so long as you understand the context for the house, you will have a nice time as we did. Idaho springs is a great area.
