Newly tastefully Refurbished 2 Bedroom 1 bath Cabin 200 feet across the street from the Lake and only 500 feet from Height Marina Boat rental(Prebook in advance)Includes 2 kayaks & 2 bicycles w/rental (with signed release of liability)& plenty of games. 3 TVs (2/55 inch) with Roku and Netflix and internet access. Fits 5 people, but tight. Fits 4 comfortably. All ages Welcome. Over 3 nights include a complimentary bottle of wine. View of the Lake from the indoor Porch with gas fireplace. Also electric fireplace. Plenty of parking for all your toys. Absolutely no pets or smoking of any kind.

I was in Houghton Lake for a golf tournament. Stayed at the property for 3 days. Perfect for me and would be good for a small family also. Very good communication from owners with all the information.

The lake house was lovely! The owners communicated very well. The only thing I would have changed is stating in the ad for the listing that you cannot walk to and hang out at the water. That was the sole reason for booking this location. My kids love to fish and were looking forward to just walked 200 feet to the lake, but we weren’t able to do that. Otherwise, the price was great, awesome setup and quiet neighborhood.

It was very clean and cozy. The weather was still cold to catch any fish so we stayed in more than planned. Located in a convenient spot. Close to restaurants and party store. Just over an hour to Traverse city. Not too far for groceries. Only could stay 3 nights. Communication from owners A. My husband made a good choice for our short getaway. Close to the lake and a marina. I would go back here.

The house was very cute and comfortable. The only down fall is access to the lake. Even though we were only 200 ft. from lake, the property at the end of the road was private, so we didn't have access to ittroad

This cottage suited our needs for my son and I, and we took our beach chairs to sit at the end of the road, by the water, for a number of hours. Very nicely decorated, and all the conveniences of home. Cute welcome treats were a nice touch.

My twin really enjoyed the kayaks & bikes. It was a sweet quaint cottage on Houghton Lake w/ a good location. We are from the south & have very nice high quality water. Saying that, I'm not used to the smell of the tap water, which I was not be able to drink. It was comparable to a sulphur or an egg smell. Not sure if the water softener wasn’t working or not. Over all that is the only concern I had. The owners are very nice & hospitable. Enjoy the cottage & our time spent there.

My husband and I stayed for a week for our anniversary with our kids joining us for the last couple nights. The cottage was absolutely perfect for the week! The big garage with bikes and extra kayaks was a huge added bonus. The place was so cute and comfortable, and we were very close to the lake. We had a fantastic week and would definitely come back!

What a GREAT space! If you’re looking for a place to stay in Houghton Lake, look no further. This is the best Vrbo I’ve stayed at! Very clean, quaint, cozy, literally 200 feet from the lake…and it comes with access to bikes and kayaks!! The full sized kitchen is stocked with all the amenities, including a full spice rack, so you’re able to make all the meals you want if going out to eat isn’t in your plans. There’s also a full size washer and dryer! Plenty of parking and a fire pit, too! Ken and Angela were great with their communication and instructions. They answered our questions in a very efficient manner, and they even accommodated a last minute request that really helped us out. There is also a smaller cabin right next door to this one that they also own and turned into a Vrbo. Although we didn’t see the inside, the outside was just as nice and clean as the bigger one that we stayed in. We sincerely enjoyed our stayed and when we go back to Houghton Lake, we’ll definitely be staying here again. Thanks for a great stay/experience, Ken and Angela!!

Great communication, clean place. Would stay again. Listed 2 bedroom which is correct but a pull out bed in the couch was not at the place as listed. Only a concern; the TV cord in master bedroom is coming apart at the connection due to the door sliding back and forth on it. I would move the outlet over more to prevent further damage or possible fire

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights, and I have nothing but good things to say about the trip! Ken and Angelina were so incredible and accommodating. They were excellent with their communication about the home and its features. There is a gorgeous view of Houghton Lake from the home, and it is in a private enough location where there isn’t heavy traffic. There isn’t lake access from the house, but I found a beach you could swim at (Sullivan Beach) that was less than a 10 minute drive from the place. I’d say the house could comfortably sleep 6 people. There was a lot of room for parking, too. The house was very clean and had a lot of charm. I am very happy with my stay and would absolutely do it again!
