8/10 - Boa

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Mundo for 4 nights. The property is beautiful, very very well kept. The staff were continually cleaning and spiffy everything up. Spotless. The complementary transportation to and from Campeche was invaluable as was the transportation between the Edzna train station and the hotel. The food was okay, but not more than that and because the menu for the one open restaurant didn't change we found it limited. There were many more staff than guests when we visited so we were well attended to but sometimes felt it was a bit much. The bartenders were helpful especially Adrian (sp?) were great. But timelines needed to be met, even met in advance, sometimes leaving the feeling of being rushed. We were to return from Capeche to the hotel at 4:30 but at 5 minutes after 4pm the driver called us we needed to go - now. We were shopping within close proximity of our meeting point but made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Also rules such as where we needed to sit in a near to empty dining room seemed excessive. For sure it's very reasonably priced and the Edzna ruins, jungle surroundings, rooms with balony and veiews, and trips to Campeche made it a pleasant 5 days. We respected the hotel and its concept enough we are looking into their other properties.
