Surf Sounds Cottage - Hot Water Beach

Our place is close to the beach and family-friendly activities but also tucked away so you can still enjoy the piece and quiet. The cottage is situated on the front half of a large subtropical shared landscaped garden.

You will have your own large private fenced garden and a large back get where you can watch the kids or enjoy a BBQ

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).

Great location but very basic accommodation in need of an upgrade

We loved the location and the garden of the property but the rest was basic and old - it could be beautiful but needs updating- expensive for what it was but if upgrades were there it would be worth the price.

Kick Back and Relax

This is a superb Kiwi bach brilliantly appointed and so much fun to stay at. With the beach 5 minutes walk away the location is superb. Outdoor areas for morning and afternoon, a sweet lawn and garden and a fantastic Weber barbee as well. Super helpful hosts and just a gem in one of NZs most outstanding locations.

Great house, perfect location

This house is so great we were able to enjoy it even on rainy days. Great outside area, nice garden, lots of room inside and the most perfect location for those visiting Hot Water Beach. Good value too. Will be back again.

Love staying here

Second time staying here. We love the tropical garden and the rustic little cottage. Covered decks front and back. Good for a couple or small family. Nice and quiet. Last night I stayed up listening to kiwi and more pork in the surrounding bush. Only five min drive to Hahei and 2 min walk to the beach.

Awesome place at hot water beach

Spent Auckland anniversary weeekend here with my family. Kids loved it. Nice and cool inside with nice little lawn and tropical garden. 1 min walk to cafe and 5 min walk to beach

House is fine but they threw out our lost property after 24 hours

We had a good time at the property but apparently the owners have a policy of throwing out lost property after 24 hours. I’ve never heard of this approach, most providers keep things left behind for several weeks. The item itself wasn’t significant (toothbrush charger) but if you choose to stay here check the rooms VERY carefully. We were traveling so didn’t notice until the next morning and I didn’t follow up until 48 hours had elapsed. A shocking lapse on my part I know, get a box people!

Peaceful and private

Comfortable older style bach property with nice decks in private subtropical garden setting. Super convenient for the beach, close to 2 cafes/restaurants. Highly recommend Hotties eatery.

Great for exploring Hot Water Beach area

The house is very neat, very close to the beach and Cathedral Cove. There were a couple of burned out light bulbs and the oven is tempermental, but otherwise everything is very nice. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is nice, the deck and yard are beautiful. Tony stopped out within a few minutes when the oven wasn't working and called out an electrician to check things out. We would gladly stay here again if we were in the area.

Surf sound cottage was fantastic

The cottage is quaint and is very well maintained. The house is in close proximity to the hot water beach. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. The taps in bathroom sink are separate for hot and cold and there was no way to mix the temperatures when the hot water became scalding. We had to get used to that. Overall loved the location and the surroundings. All amenities were as described.

Scallop festival weekend

Second time we have stayed at this property and was very pleased to see the introduction of Wifi. The house is well located, comfortable and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The booking process was ruined a little by the struggle to access the key code. Message we got was your key is available so clicked on the link only to be sent on a wild goose chase around multiple web pages to no avail. Emailed property managers however and immediate response with the code so all good. Would definitely stay again thanks very much.

Beautiful home, perfect location

This batch was the perfect location for our stay. You could hear the waves break, and so many native birds. A short walk to hot water beach, and a short drive to Hahei. We highly recommend the bact for anyone to stay at. It was very clean and beautiful property.
