Check-in was easy. Dishwasher was broken. Wi-fi was spotty. Unable to use hot tub and paddle boat until mid week. The swimming area shown is not there. The owners’ family were very nice and came to help fix the things that were unusable. Inside of house was very nice.

We had a great stay in Homer. The house had space for our family and the extra mattresses were great for the kiddos. The basement play area was so nice! A place for the kids to be loud and play while the adults visited. The dishwasher being broken was a bummer for our large group but we made the best of it with paper plates. The outdoor space was great with lots of room to run and play and the hot tub was a fun addition. It was a little buggy so bring bug spray! We would stay again!

Too hot!!!

Indoors was clean and comfy, ...until the 2 upstairs floor ac units could not keep up with the Jun2025 summer heat. It was suffocating most the week we were there, but there were too many of us to move, so we left the house as much as we could, and sweat/cold-showers at night. This was too bad, because we really wanted to relax together as we don't get to see each other easily, and going out everyday was much more expensive for the budget. The outdoors front stoop, and back furniture too, were way too dirty, like they hadnt been wiped for months; so I had to spend some hours cleaning these for my guests. The kayak and paddleboat were fun, after I spent another hour cleaning them. Otherwise, the location and home itself were great. :/

The property was a great fit for our families to share with young kids and a dog. Clearly others bring their dogs too as there was dog hair all over the couches upon arrival. The yard is fenced in with a playground (be careful one of the gates does not lock). Basement play area is stocked with toys, but humid as heck with fast filling dehumidifier. Plenty of hot water for showers, but water filtration system not regularly maintained. It's quite annoying that the exterior is covered with bugs, cobwebs, and spiders everywhere. The landscaping has pretty plants in bloom that attract large amounts of pollinators which is fine except that they are located right near entry points that you have to walk past and are overtaking the space making it hard to avoid stinging insects. Items that need attention include propane heaters were out of gas, dishwasher couldn't be used due to some kind of electronic error, oven also gave an error at one point. No pizza cooking tray. Only provided half a roll of paper towels and used roll 1 extra of TP per bathroom, limited dish towels and shower towels provided. No small trash bags for bathrooms. Soaps in showers were nearly empty, we found refill supplies for them. Showers are poorly designed and uncomfortable. One bedroom missing windows so couldn't leave open at night for cool air. Bedroom with burnt out light bulb leaving it dark so we had to swap bulbs with another fixture.

Nice, but needs a little TLC

We just loved the location of Homer, it's a cute, little town with some nice places to visit. It's also very close to Cortland that has more of the "larger" amenities needed in case you need them...larger grocery stores, other entertainment options, etc. Check in was very easy but when we arrived it was pretty hot that day (all week actually). upper 80s and a bit humid. The listing here states "Air Conditioning" and when we arrived the house was extremely hot and stuffy. It turns out that there is no central air but just two window units that were upstairs. We understand that normally in upper state New York central A/C isn't necessarily a common amenity but this listing needs to be updated to reflect exactly what you're getting. Maybe one more window unit would be nice. We had a full house so we placed one in the living room and one in the master suite...a couple of rooms were pretty stuffy all week.The house overall is nice...but as the title states, needs some TLC. When we arrived the back of the house and the breezeway between the garage and main house was covered in cob webs and spiders. The house overall needs a really good pressure washing, this includes the outdoor amenities as well. We also had an issue with the main TV but Michael (the owner) was very accommodating and had another one sent out.Overall we enjoyed our stay and liked the house. It just needs some consistent TLC and maybe a thorough walkthrough prior to a new renter arriving to confirm it's ready.

Perfect location in a beautiful home

We had a family event in the area where we all traveled from afar to get to. Needing a location that provided room for all of us in a setting conducive to adults AND children, we found this absolutely perfect home on the lake. It could not have been better. The house was clean and felt like”home” from the minute we walked in. The outdoor space was perfect and the bonus playroom for the kids was a dream come true. Everyone had plenty of space. The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. We enjoyed ourselves around the fire pit one evening and made many lasting memories. Thank you so much to our hosts for sharing this beautiful home.

Overall a nice house

nice stay but the bathrooms and kitchen appliances and utensils needed to be cleaned before use, they were not that bad but needed to be wiped down. Nice rooms and comfortable. Outdoor maintenance was not very good, we had to handle our own snow removal.

Great property but needs some major TLC

Check in was super easy and the property was beautiful. We were a party of 4 adults and 5 kids, 5 years and under. On the first night we discovered the oven did not work. The knobs were broken and didn’t allow it to properly function. I contacted Lauren and she was extremely responsive. However for the duration of our stay we did not have a functioning oven because although it showed it was off, it was still blowing heat and was extremely hot for hours after one use. We intended on cooking all meals so we were extremely disappointed in having to have take out for our meals which became very costly. On the second night, the trundle bed in the hall bedroom, collapsed. The slats do not stay in place because the mattresses are too big for the bed frame. My two children fell off the bed. My husband thought he fixed it but it fell again the next night. We did tell Lauren about it but nothing was done. So we eventually had kids on the couches instead of the bed. On our last night we were standing in the kitchen and had water drip on us. The shower in the master bathroom was leaking and caused 3 leaks in the ceiling. Resulting in us having to move the couch and pull up the carpet, which exposed so much dirt and junk under the couch cushions and couch on the floor. This house has great potential with the basement and backyard for kids. But the broken items allowing it to not function fully are safety hazards and we couldn’t use it as described or full monetary value.

No Snow Removal - Homer House on the Lake

The property was exactly as described and met expectations in terms of its features and amenities. However, the experience was significantly marred by poor property management. Upon arrival, the driveway and walkways were buried under more than a foot of snow, rendering the property inaccessible—especially for elderly family members who were part of our visit.Attempts to contact the property manager went unanswered until the final night of our stay, by which time I had already shoveled the large driveway and walkway myself to ensure access. While the property manager eventually offered a discount, she failed to follow through, despite further attempts to reach her. The property management company, Evolve, later issued a 200 refund, which I appreciated, but it did not adequately compensate for the stress and effort required during our stay.This situation was both frustrating and potentially dangerous, and I regret that it overshadowed an otherwise promising rental. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I would not rent this property again.

Fantastic house and experience

We loved this house so much! It had something for everyone. The hot tub and childrens play areas were ideal for out family. And the fenced in yard was sincerely appreciated. The house has everything we could possiby need!

Nice weekend visiting Finger Lakes area

Hello... House was nice, but here's a few things I recall that could be fixed/improved upon... Cleanliness of house- spiderwebs in cracks of fixtures, basement was dirty, sheets were not cleaned. Light bulbs burnt out throughout the house, WiFi issues- WiFi kept dropping and we had difficulty connecting to the internet, coffee maker brewed slowly- needed to be deep cleaned before initial use, oven not working properly- temperature dial did not provide accurate oven temperature; food ended up burnt; there were wobbly/loose step on back porch & propane tank not full. After I contacted house manager, I was informed to take propane tank to the corner store to refill. The lawn looked like it wasn’t maintained in some time.

Vacation

The property and home are beautiful. Lauren is wonderful. Downfalls: no washclothes, too much glass on shelves where little hands can grab, no instructions left for heat (major for those of us from the south) and someone should really clean under the couch cushions. The master closet could be straightened up/organized so someone may be able to hang some clothes up in it.

Memories made!

Beautiful home set on a lake, surrounded by mountains and charm. Enjoyed the beautiful landscaping, the open concept home, fully equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms, elegant bathrooms. Highlight was the backyard fire pit, lake front and canoe. Kids enjoyed the canoe. Lauren, the owner, was prompt, kind and customer friendly. Good memories were made. Thank you.

Fantastic

GORGEOUS house & views, quiet neighborhood. GREAT hosts! We ended up staying an extra night because of a snow storm & the hosts were very responsive & quick when we called to request an extra night. Will stay there again when visiting family.

Christmas Family Gathering

Our family came in from Wellington, FL, Corvallis, OR, and Lexington, KY to spend Christmas with our good friends in Homer. The house was spacious and pet friendly (we had 2 dogs). Can see how this would be a fun spot in the summer!

Beautiful Lakeside Location

Absolutely beautiful area in the mountains on a beautiful lake. We were able to visit multiple breweries within 45 minutes and they were all great, downtown Ithaca and Cornell were beautiful. We made it to multiple waterfalls. The owners of the home were excellent. In constant contact on our way there and as we were arriving. Inside the home is cozy and comfortable. The master sweet was amazing. All the other rooms were of great size and everything was there that was needed for cooking and relaxing. The hot tub was awesome outside. LED lighting, Bluetooth music and sat 5 comfortably. Hoping to return again when there is snow on the ground. Thank you for the amazing stay. Everyone loved it!

Lake Front Treasure
