Little over half a mile from the Property to the north is the heart of Holmes Beach where you'll find shops such as The Sand Dollar and Island Trader, a good store to purchase something for the kids or an AMI t-shirt. Whether you walk, take a golf cart or car, you'll enjoy the ease of taking the back way from the Property to these favorite island spots!
As beautiful as our white sandy beaches are, it's not all Anna Maria has to offer! Take a leisurely stroll down Pine Avenue and stop in the Olive Oil Outpost for some savory samplings or Island Charms to take home some AMI beach sand jewelry. Grab a burger at the end of The Historic AMI Pier and finish it off with a hand-dipped waffle cone at the ice cream shop located within The General Store. Want a night out? You will have your choice of local restaurants such as the award winning Beach Bistro, The Waterfront, Hurricane Hanks and many more. Explore Bridge Street where you can have a delicious meal at The Blue Marlin or drive along the coast through Longboat Key to famous St. Armand's Circle where more fun shopping and fine dining awaits. Would you like to spend time fishing, jet skiing, or horseback riding? All of these are available. You can even learn to do yoga on a paddle board. Want to venture off the Island? In March, take a trip to the ballpark to see the Pirates or Orioles up close and personal during spring training. Explore The Ringling Museum of Art and Ca' d'Zan - the magnificent 36,000 sq. ft. former home, located directly on Sarasota Bay, to John and Mable Ringling of Ringling Brother's Circus fame. Whether you fill your itinerary with many fun things to do, places to go and people to see or you simply enjoy our sun, surf and sunsets, your time on Anna Maria Island will be one to remember!
