Wooden cabin from the 70s at tree line in Geilo

Here you’ll stay in a traditional wooden cabin from the 1970s, just below the tree line with views of Havdalshovda and Hallingskarvet. The stone-paved, west-facing terrace is perfect for evenings by the fire pit, and on chilly nights you can light the fireplace while relaxing on the cozy corner sofa.



The cabin has retained its authentic mountain cabin feel without TV or Wi-Fi, so you can unwind and enjoy the silence. The open living room with a fireplace creates a warm atmosphere, and the interior invites togetherness and tranquility.



The outdoor area features a west-facing stone-paved terrace where you can gather around the fire pit and enjoy the mountain views. Here, nature is just a short distance away, and it’s a great starting point for hikes.



Access to the cabin is via a toll road. Tolls are charged upon both entry and exit and are automatically recorded via camera scanning of the vehicle’s license plate. The cost is 75 NOK per passage.



You have great hiking opportunities both along the gravel road leading into the national park and to Bælgvann, which is a popular hike with children. The hike from Vestreim Fjellstugu up toward Hallingskarvet is also worth experiencing. Geilo town center is 12 minutes away, featuring shops, restaurants, bike trails, and a climbing park. There are also nearby fishing opportunities—both in Budalsvannet and Bælgvann.
