​Welcome to the Hobart Entrance.

Architectural designed and built in 1980, the original owner of the property was a Swiss expat, who also owned a local wood mill. With access to the best timber Tasmania has to offer, nothing was spared in the design and build of the property, which the locals nicknamed as the "Swiss Millionaire". In 2016, the property went through a major renovation by famous designer at Beautiful Home Studio. The key of the renovation is to maintain the original features of the property, but bring in the comfort of modern living - spectacular view, rare Tasmanian timber, each bedroom with its own ensuite, open space, in harmony with the Tasmanian sun and surrounding nature.

The estate is a delightful 5-acre lifestyle home located 220 m above sea level at the foothills of Kunanyi/Mt. Wellington with magnificent outlook to Derwent River entrance and beyond. It is only less than 10 minute drive to Kingston shopping center, Kingston Beach, Golf Course, Coastal Hiking Trails, and Blackmans Bay, 20 minutes drive to the Brunny island ferry wharf, and the Huon valley. It is approximately 15 minute drive to Hobart's CBD being Tasmania's capital city, and approximately 30 minute drive to Hobart International Airport. Off the living room is the library/ media room where you can read a book, work up your new business plan, or simply a family gathering place to watch a movie. The library/media room, featuring Tasmanian Oak built in cabinet and wall cladding, boasts spectacular view of water, bay, city afar. It also serves as a 4th bedroom with a king bed sofa bed. Opening to the other side of the living room is the dining room and kitchen with floor to ceiling windows, Huon pine ceiling cladding, beautiful view over the water, back patio, and garden. The spacious modern kitchen features rare Tasmanian Huon pine with top of the line appliances including induction cook top, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher. The living room features spectacular elevated view, fire place, floor to ceiling windows, classy Tasmanian Blackwood wall timber paneling, modern and elegant furniture and décor. Off the living room is the library/ family room where you can read a book, work up your new business plan, or simply a family gathering place to watch a movie.
The spacious modern kitchen features rare Tasmanian Huon pine with top of the line appliances including induction 4 burner cook top, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher. The dining room has floor to ceiling glass window boast spectacular view to the garden, water, bays, mountain and the ocean.
The library featuring Tasmanian Oak built in cabinet and timber wall paneling, boasts spectacular view of water, bay, city afar. Opening to the other side of the living room is the dining room and kitchen with floor to ceiling windows, Huon pine ceiling cladding, beautiful view over the water, back patio, and garden.
The bedrooms and family/study has 100% Australian wool carpet. All 3 bedrooms have modern and elegant ensuites. The master bath is especially elegant and spacious with 2 person free standing bath tub looking towards lovely garden and the vast land of the property, separate shower and toilet. The master bath once again features the rare Tasmanian Huon pine cabinet and ceiling cladding. Both bedroom 2 (king bed) and bedroom 3 (queen bed) have beautiful view of the lovely garden, luxurious bed linen, natural latex mattress and Tasmanian Blackwood wall paneling.

Outdoor:
The property sits on 5 acres at 220 m above the sea level, hence offering elevated and spectacular view. The lovely well established garden features many beautiful and rare native flowers and plants. There are an outdoor dining set, a wood fired pizza oven and BBQ in the back patio with lovely view over garden, bay and water afar. The back patio is a truly a great place to enjoy breakfast while soaking up the sun and the view or chatting up waiting for the pizza to be baked. Friendly homely feeling

We found this house lovely to stay in with a few extra things to greet us a welcoming home, apples, wine and other food items, the view was lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside to eat our meals. Love seeing a lot of wild life up close even down to a baby frog. Having the owner contact to see if we had settle in was a lovely feeling and to contact us as we left made us feel very welcome.

Wonderful Family Holiday

A perfect location for our Canadian family to visit our Tasmanian based daughter and her family. Comfortable beds, great bathrooms and lots of space to stretch out. The outdoor pizza oven was a treat. Hope you decide to reopen the pool and spa. Will definitely return. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality.

Family Get-a-way

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Hobart Entrance. The kids loved all of the wallabies in the yard, the views were amazing, and everyone enjoyed the pizzas from the outdoor oven. The wood fire was a nice touch and made for a very warm and cozy feel.

Perfect mums getaway

Perfect getaway for our group of mums in the height of school holidays in need of some R&R, secluded location gave the illusion of being far away, but in reality all the conveniences only minutes drive away. Comfortable beds and perfect that each one had its own en-suite. Both the hot tub and pool got good use over the course of our stay! The cute animals that visited at dusk an added bonus! Thanks for having us, highly recommend!

What makes Hobart so great

You are in the middle of the bush yet under a 20 min drive from Hobart city. The house is very relaxing and a complete change of pace for those used to living in the big smoke (ie us). Great to have the pool and spa for the kids. We loved having morning visits from the wallabies and the views were fantastic. Thanks for having us!

Large, designer home with creature comforts

My husband and I stayed at Anh's property for our honeymoon. The house has a breathaking view of Hobart, a luxurious hot tub, a roaring fire place and a well stocked kitchen. Oh and wifi and NETFLIX! We enjoyed the days exploring all the amazing activities close by and the evenings watching the quokas sipping vino in the hot tub.

Fantastic views

The beds are really comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, the place is big, bedrooms are a goid size, master bedroom and ensuite is huge, the place is decorated in a unique quirky fashion that sets it apart from other homes. Anh can help with anything you need. There are lots of wallabies and you can walk into the forest via a track at the end of the road.
