While the condo was clean and the bedrooms were fine, the number of faults with the condo were beyond any reasonable expectation, as follows: 1) sizable hole in main floor despite being advertised as having “brand new floors”, along with holes in the ceiling; 2) water leakage in the fridge and a dishwasher that shut off randomly despite claim that condo “is equipped with high end appliances”; 3) random outages of the electrical outlets on one wall of the main floor, which was our main concern (potential hazard) that also caused simultaneous internet outages; and 4) outdoor patio door extremely sticky with screen purposely set aside. While the host was quite responsive to our queries and concerns (my rationale for the ’Poor’ instead of ‘Terrible’ rating), the main issues were unresolved. The host did arrange for a maintenance worker to fix the electrical problem, but he/she was a no-show and would not accommodate another time suitable to us. It would have been nice to have had more explicit guidance on condo usage (e.g., no heating the first night until we figured out how to reset the thermostat the following day; location of a fire extinguisher, which was empty). While the backyard was as advertised, the industrial-sized waste containers on the other side of the fence were noisily emptied early most mornings by heavy machinery. Perhaps it was just our bad luck, but this condo should not have been listed without a thorough inspection before release.
