The Space:

Step into a bright, airy layout with a relaxed sitting area, a large TV, and a full kitchen for simple meals between outings. The bedroom has an en suite bath, and two folding beds provide sleeping space for up to four guests. Outside, the private lanai looks over the pool and koi stream, giving the condo a peaceful view that feels distinctly Hilo.



Guest Access:

Guests at Waiakea Villas enjoy access to the community's shared outdoor pool, set on Near Ocean grounds within the resort. The unit offers a private entrance, on site parking, and a lit path to the door for evening arrivals.



The Neighborhood:

Hilo moves at a slower pace than the resort side of Hawai'i Island, with banyan trees, frequent rain, and a working-town feel along the bay. Browse the Hilo Farmers Market, stroll Lili'uokalani Gardens, or follow the water toward Rainbow Falls before sampling local treats at Big Island Candies. Hilo Bay offers a calm place to take in the coast, and the drive toward Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park makes an excellent day trip. Stay here for waterfalls, gardens, and the island's lush east-side character.



Getting Around:

Hilo is just about 10 minutes from Hilo International Airport, making it one of the most convenient Big Island bases. A rental car is recommended for reaching Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the lush Hamakua Coast, though downtown Hilo itself is quite walkable, with farmers markets, local shops, and waterfront dining within easy reach on foot. Parking is generally simple, with street spots and small lots nearby.

Please note: the shared pay per use washer/dryer is located on the ground floor of the building and can be paid for using a smartphone app. The machines do not accept coins.
