Unfortunately the windows could only be partly opened due to security cables. Only a duvet was provided but far too warm for use. A sheet would have been good but not provided. "Me and my friend booked this place as it was quite close to where we shared a house as students 6 years ago and the charm was the same, for us it was a familiar and comfortable stay - the staff were lovely and helpful too, rooms were very nice and it was great value for the pricing.
If you don't mind a shared shower, toilets and kitchen area, definitely give it a go.
My one critique of the house was that the door locks were a little finicky, a few times me and a few other guests got stuck...
"We had an amazing stay, the Old Vine is a beautiful historic building in central Winchester. The room was comfortable and immaculate, the bed was comfortable and the bedding and pillows were great, thebathroom was large and very clean. We had breakfast in our room which was delicious and hot and plentiful. All the staff were great and very attentive."
