Near Mount Rushmore and more

The two level home sits in one of the most known areas in the Black Hills.
This rental home is 9 miles from Mount Rushmore, 15 miles to Crazy Horse, close to Deadwood for gambling and other sites to see, PLUS the rally.
This house is the perfect place to relax after a long day of fun. Sits high off Old Hill City Road, one of the most ridden roads during Sturgis. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home has a patio that allow you to watch the motorcycles and the 1880 Train go by.
Has a nice garage for you to put your bikes in.
The lower level has it's own entrance with a kitchen and living area with picture windows to watch the wild life. The upstairs level is occupied by a fun couple.

Hill City stay

Easy check in. Everything we needed for our stay was there, even bottled water in the fridge!We enjoyed watching the 1880 train go by and the deer visits in the evening. Thanks!

Not what was advertised.

The owners are very nice BUT what was advertised was not what’s true. The owners live on the main level and the VRBO is the basement. The “deck” is on the main level right off the owners living room. Even if we wanted to use it, it is fenced off so their dog can run around on it. We were very disappointed. There is a metal table with metal chairs on the slab of cement by the basement door. If we wanted any sunshine while sat outside we would have to move them on to the grass. We didn’t. Jesse said the basement was somewhat sound proof. While listening to a book on CD we got a call from Sherlee to turn our TV down as she “felt like she was down there”. We didn’t think it was that loud. We turned it down and were very uncomfortable the rest of the week not knowing if she would complain again. We could hear them walking all around the upstairs through out the day, hear their phone ring and hear them talking. There are no curtains or shades on any of the big windows to close at night, so we felt exposed whenever cars drove by, and not knowing who could be looking in at us. The pictures showed zero step entry, but that is for the main level. To get to the basement you have to go down about 10 rock steps with your luggage. My husband has a a bad knee and hip so this was another surprise we didn’t know we had to deal with. We would NOT have rented this if we knew the owners were right above us, that their deck is really not available to sit on and their are steps. Be advised!!

Summer Getaway

We had a wonderful experience with our hosts, Sherlee and Jesse! They were helpful with checking into their home. Their two bedroom, two bathroom home was comfortable, clean and just what we needed for our stay. Beautiful views from the patio! Thank you Sherlee and Jesse!

Heaven on Earth!

Our first time in South Dakota and we could not have picked a more perfect place to stay! The location was great with beautiful views of meadows, hills, and wildlife all around you, even in the yard right out your windows. The place itself was spotless and so homey, with all the amenities a person could want. As 2 retired couples, we loved the closeness to the attractions we had planned to visit. Jesse and Sherlee were welcoming and extremely helpful. It was heaven - one of our favorite VRBOs!!! We highly recommend this one.

The place was spotless clean and beatiful views of the hills and wildlife nearby. The host was amazing, going above and beyond to insure we had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend this one.

Great Stay in the Black Hills

If you've read through the reviews, this one will not be much different. The h osts are very accomodating and friendly. Anything you need, they will make sure you have it. Great location visiting the Black Hills and all of the attractions (Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Windcave, etc.)

Sisters Trip

This was a perfect place for our annual sisters trip. It’s not only a convenient location to all there is to see in the area, but a beautiful location. The house is supplied with all the amenities a person could want. And Sherlee and Jesse were extremely helpful.

UTV Trip

We loved staying in this VRBO! Great location between Hill City and Keystone. Property was very clean and pleasant. Whitetail deer strolled through the property every morning and evening. A large group of turkeys came through one afternoon as well. We highly recommend this property! The only thing we would recommend is no trailers longer than 28 foot. Driveway is steep and parking is a little tight.

Perfect Home Base

Home was perfectly clean and just as advertised. Quiet location with deer and the steam train running nearby. Close to all the important highlights but really nice to get away and relax. Highly recommend. Hosts are friendly and courteous.

Total gems!

Shirlee and Jesse are amazing-they were communicative throughout the whole process and once we met them in person we knew we’d picked the perfect place! They made us feel welcome from the start. Jesse even offered to put my car into his garage if a hailstorm came through! Their property is gorgeous-you have a view of the hills and it’s secluded enough to feel like you have really gotten away, but close enough to town and many of the attractions on our list. The basement apartment is decorated so well-a mix of modern with a hint of nostalgia. It’s clean and is stocked with everything you could need for your stay. We were very comfortable staying there and will look them up again for any future trips!

Perfect vrbo with excellent location!

We had 2 couples, and the house was perfect. Beautifully decorated, plenty of linens, clean, deer in the yard, Hill City 1880 Train passing by a few times a day. Sherlee and Jesse were exceptional hosts. Very helpful, informative, and so, so friendly! I would recommend this house to anyone traveling in the Custer, Badlands, Black Hills area. I hope we get back there soon. Would definitely stay there again.
