"I booked this stay with my partner to celebrate our anniversary, expecting a luxurious experience for a portion of our otherwise budget-friendly trip. Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. Upon check-in, we were informed of an “upgrade” due to electrical issues with our room. The replacement was a secluded jungle cabin with an outdoor bathroom that had no mirror, dirt on the bed, mold stains on the ottoman, and poor lighting. "The anemities are good but not amazing. Kitchen is well stocked but has worn out cookware. Cleaners were there everyday but not thorough with floors especially. A Cockroach was seen multiple times in the back of kitchen drawers. Maintenance issues like slow draining showers and leaking tubs were noted to management but not fixed. Property is beautiful though, overall furnishings are nice. Quiet and safe with 24 hour security was appreciated. Our unit being right on the beach was amazing. "

"Very clean and spacious but there should be some mention about the amount of stairs you need to take to get down to the Hacienda. There are about 12-13 flights of stairs that you have to climb. It was tough for little kids and impossible for elderly. Aside from that, nice views, clean pool and friendly staff. "

"I stayed at Villa Azul for my bachelorette and had the absolute best time. We all couldn't believe how beautiful and incredible the villa was and we were all blown out of the water with the location, views, chefs, maids, and just everything in general. It was perfect for hosting me and my 14 friends.
