Lakeside Cottage near Adirondacks, Hot Tub, Pontoon Boat, Kayaks & Paddle Board

Experience a vacation paradise while enjoying Trout Lake's spectacular views from the waterfront hot tub. This lake is surrounded by 1600 acres of state forest preserving a sanctuary ideal for swimming, paddling, or cruising around in our provided pontoon boat. Enjoy fishing for rainbow or lake trout, large-mouth or small-mouth bass, perch, or rock bass.

The water's edge provides a safe, sandy swimming area, a raft to swim out to, a waterfront hot tub, a 13' pontoon boat with 10hp motor, kayaks and paddle board. The cottage also includes a barbecue grill, fire pit, and a smart tv with high speed wireless fiber optic internet. Provided with the rental: firewood for wood stove and fire pit, gas for pontoon boat, and propane for gas grill.

This cozy cottage features an open floor plan with a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious living room that offers beautiful views of the lake through large windows. The bathroom was fully renovated in 2024 for a fresh, modern feel.

Enjoy plenty of seating around the large dining table and on comfortable couches—one of which is a full-size sleeper sofa. The living area also includes a soapstone wood stove for added charm and warmth, as well as a flat-screen smart TV for your entertainment.

Sleeping arrangements include:

A bedroom with a king-size bed, air conditioning, and an in-wall heater

A second bedroom with a queen-size bed, air conditioning, and an in-wall heater

A loft bedroom with two twin beds

Guests must provide their own life jackets as well as sheets and towels (all other bedding is provided).

Pets are allowed for a fee of $75 per pet.

Wonderful getaway

Fantastic property for a family vacation! We enjoyed the hot tub and pontoon boat daily. Water is super clean and plenty of fun swimming spots around the lake.

Best vacation!

This cottage exceeded my expectations it was very clean and welcoming, we enjoyed the hot tub by the water, we took the boat out to enjoy the lake, this was my.first trip with my grandson and he absolutely loved it, we will definitely be making this a yearly trip

Perfect cabin on the lake

This was an awesome cabin for our family to stay and enjoy my son's graduation from St Lawrence. So glad we found this place! I would definitely return!

Cozy lake house

Cozy well maintained lake house with all the amenities you need for your stay. Includes a new bathroom and full kitchen supplies. We enjoyed a care free week on this quiet and relaxing lake and will definitely be back.

The lakeside cottage is exactly what my family needed to relax and enjoy what really matters, each other/family. Perfect Getaway

We just love coming here to this little slice of heaven. The location is so tranquil and really forces you to just chill, take a deep breath and appreciate your surroundings. We spent every day on the boat, drifting, fishing and exploring. You can't beat evenings by the fire pit and/or lounging in the hot tub. Thank you for opening up your home to us and we look forward to returning!

Wonderful house and location - perfect week!

Property was exactly as described. Everything was in excellent shape, bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen was very workable. We used the outside grill twice. Wonderful location and the lake was beautiful. We really enjoyed having the little boat to tool around in. One of our best rentals over the years!

Beautiful stay on the lake!

They provide all the comforts, beautiful cabin! Lots of extras included. The host replied very quickly to my very early morning messages. “Sorry, Sharon…I’m so used to operating early am”. Highly recommend staying at this location-the area is very nice.

A great little escape

It was a great getaway! My group ranged from 10 years old to 65 years and there was something for everyone one to do! If you love the outdoors and fishing you will love this place. My children and I kyacked for the first time and it was really fun! The water in trout lake was really clean. If I had to make a complaint it would be: I had to do way to much laundry for a vacation!

Tranquil Lake House with All the Amenities

Visited the lake house with a group of friends and this place checked all the boxes for a fun-filled, relaxing week on the lake. The house had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning. The pontoon boat and various watercraft were a joy each day. And you simply can’t beat stargazing from the hot tub right on the water. The one thing we didn’t realize from the listing is how close the house is to neighboring homes - but the neighbors we did meet were all welcoming and friendly. Nonetheless this property may be the best rental property I have ever stayed at. The hosts did everything to ensure we had a memorable, comfortable stay.

Perfect, cozy, fall weekend at the lake!

This is our fourth year at Trout Lake and our fourth year renting from Donna (I can’t say enough good things about these hosts!). All of our other trips were in the summer, so I wasn’t sure what to expect…. It was amazing! We had a long weekend of boating, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and even some (brief, cause “brrr”) swimming. After each activity, we chased the chill away with a soak in the hot tub, followed by a fire in the wood stove. The cabin was clean (as always), well stocked, and full of lake ambiance in spades. You can’t go wrong with this listing!

Another great Trout Lake vacation!

This was our second year at this property and our third time renting from the Clarks. They have exceeded our expectations each and every time (the welcoming gifts were new this year- and much enjoyed!) This cabin is adorable, charming, and clean. It comfortably fits my family of five and my in-laws. The kitchen is relatively well stocked. The grill is like-new. The fire pit is cozy with lots of seating. The hot tub is welcome after a sunny day in the water or a chilly, rainy day inside. The loons are fascinating to watch and listen to. The sunsets are gloriously reflected in the water. A week of boating, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, trail running and fishing- something for everyone in an age range from 9-69. Thank you again to the Clark’s! We will be back!

Cabin with a beautiful Lake

This is a very nice property with more positives than negatives.I'll put the negatives first: No curtains on windows other than in the bedrooms/bathroom. This one seems kind of odd, but there is no way to cover the windows in the kitchen, dining room, or living room (which faces the lake). This combined with slightly close neighbors means that the lights they leave on or conversations can be seen and heard. I could not get the side door to lock. The only other part that can be considered a negative is that the walk to the dock has roots around the area that are uneven. There is a handle bar to assist when walking up and down to help maintain balance.Now the positives: Incredibly well furnished, all knives, cutlery, pots, pans, trays, cutting boards were well kept. The coaches recline and are comfortable. The dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer all worked well. The fire pit is at a good location with plentiful firewood. The gas grill worked great. The hot tub is large with strong jets and fireflies come out at night. The mosquitos were only active on one of the four nights I stayed. The lake is very beautiful and worth exploring and admiring. There's a lot of small wildlife around like chipmunks, robins, red squirrels, a cat, and countless unique birds singing and living around the lake. We put up a hammock and the days couldn't be more relaxing.

Should have been paradise

Overall 1 star rating is due to the poor attitude of the owner John. Cottage is very rustic. The bed in the master bedroom has such a sink hole on one side it makes it difficult to sleep and a need for a chiropractor appointment. There are very specific directions to start a fire and we were not left supplies. While John and Donna were responsive, John was very rude and made a snarky remark that we didnt go get twigs from outside after saying it had just rained for 10 days. They did refund cleaning fee. Windows do not lock and John rolls his eyes about you "not being the first to ask for locking windows and doors" and excuses it by saying "you're in the safest place around and the sheriff is at the end of the lake". Required to stay three nights during the off season and the hot tub didn't work (entire reason we chose location). Pontoon boat is provided but navigation lights have been removed as owners do not want night usage. These lights are required by the US Coast Guard and make this craft illegal and unsafe to operate.

Perfect!

It is difficult to say what was more enjoyable - cozy Lakeside cottage, picturesque Trout Lake or meeting the owners John and Donna. I have been renting cottages in the Adirondacks for many years and this is definitely my new favorite. As soon as I entered the cottage I felt at home. Cozy, clean, very comfortable, pet friendly and great view of the lake. Only downside is the loft, which is best suited for kids or those nimble enough to climb a ladder toting a suitcase. But it wasn't a problem during my stay as I didn't need access. Although the cottage is technically a few miles from the ADK park, the look and feel is the same. Trout Lake is beautiful - small and quiet with several small islands. The pontoon is perfect for touring the Lake. Owner, John, graciously came to the cottage to give me a pontoon lesson and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about his adventures. Meeting John and wife, Donna, was an unexpected bonus. They were warm, informative and gracious hosts - clearly available if I needed them but not at all intrusive. Because their other rental properties were turning over while I was there they invited me to check out their other cottages. Each one is better than the next! My entire experience was so relaxing I never left the cottage. So I have already booked it for a week this fall so that I can enjoy beautiful fall foliage as well as a couple of day trips (if I can tear myself away). If you need the entertainment and pace that a large city provides this is definitely not the place for you. If you want to enjoy the beauty and peace of nature and enjoy outdoor activities (or just want to curl up with a good book and your favorite beverage) it is perfect!

Beautiful week on trout lake

We had a wonderful time - our second stay in this gorgeous cottage The ambience is unbeatable. We particularly enjoy fishing off the dock and the rock nearby, and taking evening tours on the pontoon boat.

This was exactly what the Dr ordered - total peace and quiet on the most tranquil lake.

The house was exactly as advertised, and so well stocked for an active couple (boats, paddle board, lake swimming). John and Donna were wonderful hosts - a truly zen experience for 9 beautiful October nights. Thank you! Nadya and Robert

Charming and well equipped cabin

There were 3 couples, we all enjoyed this wonderful lakeside cabin, the hot tub, and boat. Very clean, well maintained and tons of charm. The 3rd bedroom loft is accessible by ladder, a bit tricky for adults..but a great room.

Rustic

Definitely a rustic older property -- floors not level so entry door very hard to open and a large window would not close, no closets or clothes hangers whatsoever, just pegs on wall (not good for knits), water not potable (buy some before arrival!) so ice maker does not function (again, buy before arrival if you like iced drinks), no ceiling lights and inadequate bulbs in table/floor lamps so rooms are VERY dim in evening, no lights by dock for enjoying a nightcap by the water. Be aware that the "loft" access is an extremely steep and narrow homemade ladder with the slim edge of a 2x4 for steps-- good luck getting suitcases or older folks up there! There were indeed kayaks and SUP but so carelessly stored that they had become absolutely filthy. Had we been there in the heat of summer we could have gotten into the lake to scrub them, but in mid-September that prospect was chilling, literally. Also, I texted owners 3 times and never got a single response, so it's good that my concerns weren't critical.. This rental got us through the week but there are much, much better places that actually rent for LESS money, just book early (unlike I did).

Really beautiful property

Overall, a 5 star stay. Beautiful property with gorgeous views. Kitchen was well stocked..kitchen aid mixer, nice pans and sharp knives. Tiny things that could of made it better.... Fridge was never cold enough. Such a well stocked kitchen but not enough space for food. But overall, the place was beautiful and nothing to complain about
