Convenient tie off at the dock (4'-5' depth) for your boat plus jet ski storage on the floating platforms. Fresh water shower and a cleaning station for your catch conveniently located on the dock. Enjoy kayaking or paddle boarding all day on the quiet "No Wake" section on Jimmies Creek. Free High Speed internet, wifi and cable TV. Recently updated furnishings include; new furniture in all bedrooms, new family room furniture and new vinyl plank flooring throughout! Kitchen is fully equipped with new dishes and plenty of cookware and utensils to prepare any meal! Furnished screened porch with dining table, couch and chair with foot stool, soft lighting and views of Jimmies Creek provide a perfect evening at the Summer Fun. Gas grill available for tenants use. Book with confidence knowing that the house will be professionally cleaned and thoroughly sanitized prior to your occupancy. Convenient tie-off at dock and use of jet ski platforms. Pets are allowed with a $15 per day, per pet fee. For safety and security purposes there are surveillance cameras around the dock and common areas of the property.

Peaceful Family Week

The house is in a great location with everything you need to relax and unwind. We had three generations and all of us had the best time. There was plenty of room and the house was very well kept. There are puzzles and board games and a huge yard with a dock. The owners were so kind through the entire process.

Good size house, quiet area, great screened porch, powerful AC, need a boat if staying here

Quaint house on a shared gravel drive about 25 min from town, 5 min from a dollar general. Large screened porch was peaceful. AC will freeze you out which is great in summer. Spacious living area. Dock is fun for fishing but water is only a few feet deep at deepest point so couldnā€™t catch anything bigger than your hand and kids didnā€™t want to get in the swampy water to swim which was disappointing. There are 3 kayaks, but they were inundated with spiders and sit inside type rather than sit on top which made the spider situation more sketchy and also could not get out of them once in deeper water to swim. The back side of the kayak rack had poison ivy so couldnā€™t even get to that one. There is extensive poison ivy lining the woods of the front and back yards, so beware if you bring a dog and try to keep your kids away from the trees. I wouldnā€™t recommend staying here unless you are brining a boat, unless staying at the house is your thing. We had planned to rent the pontoon boat at the house but the owner pulled it out of the water the day before our arrival despite pleas not to do so. The master bath/closet has moderate mold odor so if you are sensitive, have asthma, etc this could be a concern. You are expected to bring your own sheets and pillow cases, which is unusual and I missed in the details. If you use theirs, you have to wash them and repackage them before you check out or it is 25 fee per bed, again unusual. Itā€™s a nice place but was a bit of a let down for us.

Not a good experience

The home was clean, and the neighbors sharing the driveway were kindā€”but thatā€™s where the positives end.On June 11, after the refund window had closed, I was sent a 12-page document filled with restrictive rules and details that should have been in the original listingā€”most importantly, that the dock is shared. Had that been disclosed upfront, I would have chosen a different property. Guests are also expected to take the trash bins to the road, which is unreasonable for a vacation rental.Linens were not included, but this was buried in a photo caption and the documentā€”not clearly stated in the main listing.A thunderstorm knocked out power for 17 hours. No flashlight or emergency supplies were available. The owner offered minimal communication and no real assistance beyond telling me to go buy ice and sharing updates from Spectrum. I lost over 200 worth of food purchased for the week. The house was 82 degrees overnightā€”miserable.After I left the property, I received an accusatory message from the owner blaming my family for ceiling damage that was already present when we arrived. Yes, I shouldā€™ve reported it soonerā€”but to be blamed for what appears to be existing mold or water damage after just six days is absurd.This experience felt like a bait-and-switch followed by poor communication and unfair treatment. I would not stay here again, and I strongly urge future renters to ask for all documentation and rule disclosures before booking.

Spring Break Getaway

We stayed at a VRBO property on Lake Gaston during Spring Break and had a fantastic experience. The home was spotless and well-maintained, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals comfortably. We especially enjoyed having access to the kayaks and paddleboardā€”they added a fun, relaxing element to our stay. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, providing the perfect setting to unwind and rejuvenate.The host was very informative and responsive, which made our stay even smoother. A special thanks to the kind neighbor who went above and beyond to help my son retrieve his phone from the lakeā€”truly appreciated! We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene and welcoming getaway.

Great peaceful property exactly as listed. Bernie was a great communicator and the neighbors were super friendly. We used the kayaks and paddleboard daily. Jimmies Creek is a lower traffic area which works well for the kayak and SUP. Highly recommended.

Relaxing family getaway

Had an intergenerational week-long family getaway on the lake. Love lake Gaston, the kayaks and paddle board were great. We rented a boat for a day and had no problems docking it. We had a lot of rain one day and the puzzles and other games in the house kept us entertained. The best part was the owner's responsiveness! We had lots of questions and added the boat late and she was so quick to answer and very accomodating.

Great Time

If you are looking for a quiet time, Lake Gaston is the place! Such a beautiful, peaceful area. This home is a great place to stay and make your home base. Lots of amenities provided, sits in a beautiful cove, and an amazing screened in porch that we spent lots of time on. Was also a great spot for our dog. Thank you!

Family Vacation

Perfect for docking boat and jet skis. We also enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Love the screened-in porch. Quiet and peaceful. Friendly neighbors. House was clean and comfortable for 7 adults and we still had plenty of room. Friendly hosts with quick response. We had a great time !

Relaxing lake vacation

Great last-minute getaway!

I was looking for a place between where my daughterā€™s in school and home. This was a perfect getaway. We loved kayaking, paddle boarding and attempting to fish! Also enjoyed the fire pit and neighbors were lovely and kind. Bernie was a great communicator. All in all a great long weekend with friends and family!

What a week!! Two thumbs up!!

What a week we all had, was able to spend time with all my kids back together. House was wonderfully furnished. Being able to dock the pontoon and have access to kayaks gave the kids plenty to keep busy. Wonderful experience, highly recommend. Thank you Bernie.

Weā€™re a group of friends that always spend some time on LKG every summer. The house was just what we needed. Adequate room, nice place to moor our boat, I got to bring my pup with me, & we loved the screened in porch! Would definitely stay here again!
