"I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful and enjoyed sitting outside at the rear. There's no problem parking. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The only criticism I have is, about the shower room. It needs something to put your toiletries on. There is a small glass shelf above the wash basin, but that is taken up by the complimentary toiletries and 2 glasses. Even without them it's only a small shelf. I had to put my toilet bag on the floor. The...

"The staff were incredibly professional and helpful. I couldn't fault any one of them but I would mention abby particularly. The service was impeccable and the food was very food. Breakfast was so good and there was a lot of choice. We had a pool room which was perfectly positioned next to the pool which was clean with loungers and seating. I would highly recommend a visit here and we will certainly visit again."

"As soon as I walked into The George I was welcomed with friendly smiley staff who helped me check in and showed me to my room. They went through dinner times as well as breakfast. I didn't eat breakfast as I was too full up from the dinner the previous evening, the pie was beautiful and the sticky toffee pudding was yummy! My room was of a good size, clean and tidy and en-suite shower room was lovely. I will definitely be booking to stay at The George again when I next visit."

"Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here."

"A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks."
