Smelly nasty room #12

The room was awful at a rate of $165 smelled of mold and smoke didn't even use the shower it was so nasty and carpet was damp, the beds stunk like sweat. We Were scared to complain and leave didn't know I could have found us another room after a 5 hour trip that should have only taken 3 because of traffic and checkin .

Need housekeeping

Our room hasn't been cleaned. And from the dust and what was wiped up in the tub I don't know how long it sat empty... the carpet very clearly hadn't been vacuumed. There were crushed potato chips and other crumbs on the floor. Many stains in the carpet as well. The bed was comfy and linens in it were clean. Bath towels had stains on all of the sizes. A/c worked great so that was good. We paid extra to have the jacuzzi room and when we wiped out the tub it was apparent the tub hadn't been wiped clean for a while. I did enjoy my soak however - but the whole unclean room and stained towels put a damper on my "spa experience."

bad hot tub

hot tub made a large noise - terrible - stopped once it filled - too powerful jets - sprayed water all over floor while filling. problem with door lock - key would not work the security lock. I was given a room which was up 7 steps to another level then 17 mores steps to room. I have a disability with leg - I only took the room because of the hot tub. There were other rooms on ground level. Mgr didn't even ask if I had a disability but he could see my handicap tag. No place to put a turn in key. Wouldn't answer the ringer at 7am. Bed was fine and room was okay. Sorry I won't stay here again.

Not a place I would recommend.

Room had clean sheets and clean counters. I had to kill several bugs in the room. Shower was clean but obvious mold behind fixtures. The obviously replaced A/C unit looked like it had been installed with duct tape. Dust was caked in the bathroom fan and the A/C unit's vents. There was two of us staying three nights. Gave us two towels and two wash cloths. I had to ask for fresh towels and they never cleaned the room or changed the sheets. I was not so happy with the stay. I will say it has a very nice view of the river.

Disappointing.

I have stayed at several motels in Helen over the years and this is the first and last time that I will stay at the Hofbrau. This is an old motel that is well past needing a major renovation. Everywhere you look there is something damaged. The room was musty with peeling wallpaper and odd stains. The bathroom wasn't very clean and had a plunger behind the commode. I understood why because it would barely flush. Beat up furniture, missing lightbulbs. Just general neglect. If this were a cheap motel off the interstate, I might could understand. But this is not a cheap motel and it's in a town that relies on tourism. The owner needs to put some money into the place or else sell it to somebody that will.

Dirty room..bugs found..did not stay.

This is quite easily the worst room I have ever paid for. We could not stay and asked for a refund. I'm shocked that this hotel is even on the list of appropriate places to stay.

Good location

Office was very nice. Room was very out of date. Curtains were barely hanging, mattresses were stained and very uncomfortable. There were holes in the walls that were just patched. Bathroom floor was terribly dirty around the baseboard and the maid did not even clean the bathroom. This hotel has great potential, but needs to be gutted and redone.

Hotel room was disgusting.

Holes in walls , stained , ripped drapes..GROSS..will never stay there again or recommend it. I expected to pay more than usual since it was peak season but what i paid for what i got should be illegal. Place shouls be condemned.

The hotel is old and outdated...however with October fest going on it was the only place with vacancy...it was a bed for the night...right on the river

convenient and clean

The place was great, but could use a good paint job. The continental breakfast didn't start until 8 am, should have been 6 am. The lobby didn't open until 8 am no chance to get a cup of coffee. Did not have any vending machines. they missed the chance to make extra $ at no cost to them. The TV reception was not clear, not like in there office. Very few channels to choose from even though it is in the Atlanta market. Very out of date. They gave you a physical key instead of a key card and only one key per room. They chain lock in the room on the door was disconnected.

Went there for Oktoberfest and was unfamiliar with hotels in that area - would never stay there again.
