  • PANORAMIC LAKE & MOUNTAIN VIEWS! This charming 2BR/2BA retreat offers stunning year-round scenery and a relaxing mountain-lake getaway. The main-level master features a king bed and Smart TV, while the upstairs suite includes a queen bed, futon, and private bath. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room with gas fireplace, Wi-Fi, and Smart TV. Unwind on the wraparound deck or covered porch with gas grill. Pet-friendly and perfect for making lasting memories.

    Adventure awaits in Western North Carolina and North Georgia, where scenic views, outdoor recreation, and relaxation are all within easy reach.

    Take in sweeping mountain vistas at Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, a 20-minute drive, or visit Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest point, just 35 minutes away. Spend a day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina, or launch your own at a nearby public access point.

    Explore the Nantahala National Forest at Jackrabbit Mountain, less than five minutes from the property, with trails for mountain biking and dog-friendly hiking. Just 25 minutes away, Fires Creek Recreation Area is a local favorite for scenic hikes, swimming, and trout fishing.

    Across the Georgia border, discover High Shoals Falls Trail, a 30-minute drive, or head to Alpine Helen, 45 minutes away, for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

    After a day of exploring, unwind at the restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee, and savor the area’s local flavor.

    We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. So much to do and see right in town. We have a handy Welcome Book in the house full of Places to Eat, Things to Do, Shopping, Hiking and Waterfall Trails. Wineries abound; they’re everywhere! And a short 25 min drive to Helen for tubing or zip lining.

    There are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... The fellas will help you out! All kinds of water toys too like jet skis, standup paddle boards and kayaks.

    Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks Lake Chatuge below and provides picturesque mountain views. Shooting Creek Overlook is breathtaking. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Jackrabbit Mountain and Chatuge Dam. Both Towns County (Hiawassee GA) and Clay County (Hayesville NC) have super parks and beaches. Trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, are less than 10 miles from this home.
    Closer to town is the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds that hosts the Georgia Mountain Fair each summer. Be sure to stop by Main Street to peruse the charming shops, quaint antique stores, and tasty restaurants.


    You will have access to the entire property with the exception of the garage.

Quaint, quiet and cozy. This cabin is an excellent stay for those that want a quiet retreat in the mountains. An easy commute from Hiawassee town center but far enough to feel you’ve escaped for a bit! Beautiful views and the home is in excellent condition. Extremely clean and a very responsive host. We’ll be back!

Beautiful cabin - it was missing the Keurig but thankfully Ingles close by and able to purchase some regular coffee. Some road work was being done so a slight inconvenience but overall excellent stay.

Beyond expectation

The cabin was beautiful and well appointed. The view was spectacular. We used it as our base as we traveled from Blue Ridge, Helen, and Tallulah. Quiet and peaceful place to stay.

Sanity Save

We could not have asked for a better more beautiful place! We kept extending our stay from 4 nights to 10, Pricilla was awesome and the cabin was perfect in every way - we have stayed in many VRBO properties US, Italy and Costa Rica - they were great, BUT Haiwassee has been the best.

Great Stay (Again)

This was our second stay at Bears Eye View and it was just as good as the first. This is a beautiful home with great views of Chatuge. It is well equipped and has everything you need for a mountain get away. Highly recommend and I'm sure we will be back.

Very Enjoyable Weekend!

We stay in Hiawassee a lot and love it more and more every time. This place is very nice with a great kitchen window and porch view. The host made last minute special accommodations for us that made our stay possible. Highly recommend.

Great view, comfortable cabin

Great cabin! Great porch with awesome view! Roads slightly steep but not for long. The cabin is pet friendly but there was no sign of previous pet visitors. Great stay!

Gorgeous cabin close to heaven to relax!

This cabin is gorgeous and an extraordinary place close to heaven with a perfect location to relax and enjoy nature, pretty close to Lake Chatuge with wonderful accommodations! Everything was so perfect, very clean and organized. Loved every single spot of the cabin, it was enjoyable and in order! The concierge, was very kind answering my messages and very helpful to get the new main door code. We really enjoyed our stay! Hope we'll comeback very soon!

Cabin with a View.

The property is beautifully presented cabin with amazing views, wrap around porch and the comfort of home. There is even a ramp for a wheelchair if needed. Minutes from Hiawasee make it convenient to reach many local areas. Bring a step stool if you are short or mobility challenged as the master bed is very high off the ground.

Great Cabin With Wonderful Views

This cabin is wonderful. It's clean. It's comfortable and, the views from the front porch are breathtaking. The kitchen is well appointed for easy cooking. The bed in the primary bedroom on the first floor is very comfortable. The living area is spacious. Communication with the property manager was easy. It's a steep drive up the mountain on a narrow road but it's paved and not difficult like other cabins we have stayed in. This place gets an A rating from us and if we stay in the area again, it would be the first place we would check for availability.

Fantastic

I have stayed at many rental properties and VRBO's. I was visiting Hiawassee on family matters and rented this cabin. Wow! It was absolutely the nicest place I have every stayed, pet friendly or otherwise. I travel with my small dog and have found "pet friendly" is often code for lower quality, smelly properties. Not so with this house. It was immaculate and fantastic. Everything seemed brand new, including the cabin itself. High quality building materials, appliances, furniture, even the decorating. Everything worked perfectly, including the fireplace which added an extra dimension to the stay. The bed was clean, seemed brand new and VERY comfortable. The neighborhood is secluded and quiet. It was winter and although it is located in a "high end" neighborhood, it seemed many of them were vacation homes - I didn't see alot of other people around. I slept better than in my own bed as it was so comfortable and quiet. There is plenty of streets for dog walking, if you don't mind walking a hill or two. I give this place my highest rating and would recommend it to anyone!

Falsely Advertised as Wheelchair Accessible

Bed in the only main floor bedroom is not accessible for a person of average height, who depends on a walker, much less someone depending on a wheelchair. Because of this, we were forced to cut our stay short. And the property manager was not willing to consider any amount of a refund whatsoever. Along with receiving confirmation of our booking we also received a picture of the cabin which wasvery different from the online picture. So at that time we reviewed the online pictures again. Looking closely at the pictures we questioned the property manager about the height of the bed on the main floor. The property manager assured us that the picture must be distorted, because “it’s a normal height bed”. Unfortunately we discovered that was not true after arriving at the cabin in the evening. We were supposedly staying in a "wheelchair accessible" cabin, for our 80 year old lady friend, who depends on her walker. We were very, very disappointed with this booking. We were pleased to see the fall colors in God's beautiful creation. Charles
