The Space:

At the center of the home, soaring ceilings and expansive windows draw the outdoors in, framing peaceful lake views and filling the space with natural light. Comfortable seating, warm wood finishes, and a cozy fireplace create an inviting atmosphere that feels both elevated and relaxed.



The fully equipped kitchen and adjoining dining area were designed for lingering conversations, shared meals, and slow mornings with coffee overlooking the trees. Multiple living spaces allow guests to spread out throughout the day, whether you're curled up with a book beside the fire, enjoying a quiet conversation, or finding a moment of solitude with the view.



For writers, creatives, and remote professionals, a dedicated workspace overlooking the lake provides an inspiring place to focus, create, and recharge. Throughout the home, carefully designed gathering spaces invite guests to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with what matters most.

To preserve this experience, many of the main living areas feature minimal to no window coverings, allowing nature to become part of the home's design and creating a peaceful sense of openness throughout your stay.

Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the entire home and outdoor living spaces during their stay. Please note that a few owner storage areas and utility closets may remain locked and are not accessible to guests, and our garage is unavailable for guest use.



Self-check-in is available using a secure smart lock, allowing guests to arrive at their convenience after check-in time.

The Lantern House is located in a peaceful hillside neighborhood overlooking beautiful Hayden Lake. Nestled among towering pines and custom homes, the area offers a quiet retreat while still being conveniently located near all that Hayden and Coeur d'Alene have to offer.



One of the things we love most about this neighborhood is the sense of tranquility. The winding roads, mature trees, and elevated setting create a peaceful atmosphere that feels removed from the hustle of everyday life. Many of the surrounding homes enjoy lake views, but The Lantern House sits perched above much of the neighborhood, offering sweeping views of Hayden Lake, the surrounding forest, and breathtaking sunsets.



Guests often find themselves slowing down here—whether enjoying coffee on the deck, watching boats drift across the water, or listening to the sounds of nature from one of the home's outdoor gathering spaces.

The Lantern House was thoughtfully designed as a peaceful retreat for adults seeking relaxation, connection, creativity, and inspiration. With multiple fireplaces, reading spaces, a dedicated workspace, elevated decks, and hillside terrain, the home is best suited for couples, writers, remote professionals, girls' getaways, and small adult groups.



While children are not prohibited, please note that the home was not designed with young children in mind. Elevated decks, stairs, minimal window coverings, and the overall atmosphere of the property make it best suited for adult-oriented stays.



✔ Guest Check-In Form & ID Required

A guest check-in form will be sent shortly after booking and must be completed within 48 hours to confirm your reservation. A valid government-issued ID is required for the primary guest.



🚗 Driveway, Parking & Trailers

The Lantern House is situated on a hillside above Hayden Lake. The driveway is steeper than a typical residential driveway.

Parking is available for a maximum of 2 vehicles and is strictly enforced.

Please Park only in designated parking areas and do not park on neighboring properties or roadways.



🚫 No Boat or Trailer Parking

Due to the property's location and parking limitations, boat, trailer, RV, and recreational vehicle parking are not available on-site.



🚫 No Garage Access

The garage is not available for guest use and will remain locked during your stay.



🪟 Windows & Views

One of the most unique features of The Lantern House is its incredible lake and forest views. To preserve these views and allow natural light to fill the home, many of the living areas feature minimal or no window coverings. The home was intentionally designed to bring the outdoors in and showcase the surrounding landscape.



🔥 Fire Pit & Outdoor Living

Please enjoy the fire pit responsibly. Never leave a fire unattended and ensure it is fully extinguished before returning indoors or retiring for the evening. Fire restrictions may be in place during certain times of the year and must always be followed.



🌲 Wildlife Awareness

North Idaho is home to deer, turkeys, squirrels, raccoons, and other wildlife. Please do not feed wildlife and be sure to keep food and trash secured when enjoying the outdoor spaces.



📹 Exterior Security Cameras

For the safety of guests, homeowners, and the property, exterior security cameras are located outside the home. There are no cameras inside the home or in private guest areas.



🎉 No Parties or Events

The Lantern House is designed as a peaceful retreat for relaxation, connection, creativity, and quiet enjoyment. Parties, events, and unauthorized gatherings are not permitted.
