When you are on vacation in Dalsland, outdoor activities are at the top of the list. The Dalsland Canal with 31 locks connects a series of elongated lakes that invite you to paddle tours and boat trips, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. Hike in the Sörknatten and Stora Liane nature reserves. The pilgrimage route in northern Dalsland is a picturesque long-distance hiking trail for true nature lovers. At times you have incredible views of the wilderness, in terrain as dramatic as the east Swedish high coast. If you want to see something other than nature and water, visit the "Gammelgården" in Bengtsfors, western Sweden's largest open-air museum. You should also not miss the mighty Lake Vänern.
