Coastguard Cottage With Sea Views

This victorian coast guard cottage sits high on top of the cliff in acres of country parkland. With spectacular views from every window ! A paradise for walkers, ( and dogs ! ) it also has the benefit of being 10 mins drive from Hastings Old Town with its famous fishing community, eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, beach and rail link to London and Brighton.
15 mins in the other direction takes you to the beautiful clique port town of Rye and the white sand beach at Camber beyond.
The new visitor centre in the country park , is a stroll away, good for breakfast or light lunch .
ā€œThe Cove ā€œ is a 20 min walk across the cliff top into Fairlight village. A very good foodie pub, using local produce and serving local beer, it has something for everyone with lovely atmosphere.

Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit in diesem wunderschƶnen Ferienhaus und kƶnnen es zu 100% weiterempfehlen. Die Lage ist einfach unschlagbar: Ruhig gelegen und nah genug, um die KĆ¼ste zu erkunden. Der perfekte Ort, um wirklich abzuschalten und die Seele baumeln zu lassen.Das Haus hat einen ganz eigenen, positiven Charme und Charakter, in den man sich sofort verliebt. Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet und man fĆ¼hlt sich sofort willkommen. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts ā€“ von der KĆ¼che bis zu den gemĆ¼tlichen Schlafzimmern war alles vorhanden, was man fĆ¼r einen entspannten Urlaub braucht.Wer dem Alltag entfliehen und die Schƶnheit der englischen SĆ¼dkĆ¼ste in vollen ZĆ¼gen genieƟen mƶchte, ist hier genau richtig.

Das Cottage ist wunderschƶn gelegen, man kann aus fast jedem Zimmer auf's Meer schauen (wie auf den Fotos von Karens Beschreibung zu sehen). Der Ausblick ist einfach fabelhaft. Auch Wanderungen entlang des England Coast Path sind direkt von hier aus mƶglich. Bis in die Altstadt von Hastings fƤhrt man mit dem Auto ca. 10 min. Das Cottage mit seiner besonderen AtmosphƤre und der schƶne, gepflegte Garten haben uns sehr gefallen. AuƟerhalb des Hauses hƶrt man, wie ein anderer Mieter in einem Kommentar schrieb, ein leises dauerhaftes GerƤusch der nicht weit entfernten Radar-Station, was jedoch von mir und meiner Familie ebenfalls nicht als stƶrend empfunden wurde, obwohl ich sehr gerƤuschempfindlich bin.Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Naturerleben hier vor Ort. Auf der nahe gelegenen Wiese sah man morgens und abends Kaninchen grasen und flitzen. Sonne, Wind, Wolken und Nebel, Regen und Gewitter. All dies war aufgrund der exponierten Lage des GrundstĆ¼cks besonders intensiv wahrnehmbar.Die KĆ¼che ist gut ausgestattet, der WLAN-Empfang ist einwandfrei. Bereits im Vorfeld hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Kontakt zur Vermieterin Karen, die uns wegen WĆ¼nschen fĆ¼r die Betten (Doppelbettnutzung oder Einzelbettnutzung) kontaktiert hatte.Das Einchecken war unkompliziert mƶglich. Wir wurden bei Ankunft von kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten wie Brot, Butter, Milch und Aufstrichen begrĆ¼ĆŸt.Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen und kƶnnen das Cottage uneingeschrƤnkt weiterempfehlen!

Lovely cottage with great views

We found the cottage to be very comfortable and well equipped. Great walks direct from the front door especially to The Cove for a very enjoyable early dinner. We all agreed it is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. We would love to return in the summer to really explore the area and see the views on sunny days.

We stayed over the new years break. Karen left us some delicious truffles and bubbly which was thoughtful! Communication with Karen was great from the beginning. Pictures doesnā€™t do the cottage justice it was much bigger than I thought. Unfortunately my husband and I caught a cold so we werenā€™t feeling up for exploring but our friends did and lived Rye. The views were picturesque but when itā€™s windy you know about it! Would definitely recommend! Thank you Karen

Very comfy and homely

The cottage is very comfortable, with everything included for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We really didnā€™t want to leave. The kitchen is very well-equipped as is the rest of the cottage. Itā€™s in a lovely location with fine walks and stupendous sunrises.

Prachtig huisje, gezellig ingericht als een echte Engelse cottage, een fijne tuin en de omgeving is ontzettend mooi! Overal uitzicht op zee en een prachtig wandelgebied. De bedden liggen erg goed en als welkom stond er een heerlijk vers brood klaar met gezouten boter. .

4 Firehills Cottage

A fabulous unique property with views to die for, this well equipped cottage has everything you need for a short break or holiday. Karen has done everything you need to enjoy your stay. The cottage 'handbook' is the best we've seen, giving you all the information you need or would ask, and a few places to visit too. Parking is outside the cottage on the drive and entrance through the front door you have a galley style kitchen with everything you need, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a coffee machine. To the right you have a living room/dining room and downstairs toilet and conservatory leading to a lovely cottage style garden. The garden has a shed with clothes airers and garden furniture in, Further down is a bench style table and BBQ. Most mornings we had a rabbit in the garden eating the grass! The second floor of the cottage has two big bedrooms and the bathroom. What gives the cottage the ultimate wow factor is the loft conversion. There is a huge bed, victorian style bath with handheld shower attachments, dormer windows looking west across the coast to Eastbourne and Beachy Head. The two big veluxes on the other side give you views eastwards across the bay to Dungeness, and on the clear days across to France. You can sit for hours watching ships up and down the channel. We had a couple of nights of storms that we sat and watched. Truly impressive! I can't not finish this review without saying that the neighbours were lovely too!

Beautiful house and location.

This was a lovely long weekend away for my birthday. The photos do not do this property justice. The location is beautiful and the views down the coast from either side of the house are stunning. There was plenty of space for myself, my husband, my son my mother and my sister along with two spaniels. Karen kindly provided a Stairgate as we never let our dogs upstairs and there was plenty of room in the dining area section for the dogs to sleep their crate. The whole area is wonderful dog walking country with lots of footpaths and stunning views. There are also lots of rabbits so should you have a rabbit happy dog You may need a little more work keep them under control! Our dogs Were very keen to get out of the garden to chase said rabbits and one of them did manage it but I have told Karen about the hole in the fence and I have absolute confidence that she will secure this as Karen has been incredibly communicative and very helpful. There are lots of stairs in this property and the beautiful main bedroom at the top does have sloping ceilings near the bed so you just have to remember that! Thank you, Karen for a lovely stay And it would be lovely to come back one day.
