"What a unique relaxing stay enjoying birding, kayaking, stargazing, sunsets off the bridge and watching the kids capture crabs galore. We loved the quirky cottage with its amazing large wrap around window views. Donna and Mike are caring hosts, offering plenty of tips on the area when asked. The island is conveniently located close to Yorktown and not far from Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. The kids also enjoyed both Yorktown and Jamestown beaches during the stay. "

"I would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway! The hosts were just lovely! They were very informative and helpful all around!Check in was super easy! Fully stocked pantry and amenities! Kitchen was quaint and perfect for all cooking needs! I would go again! It was a wonderful time! Close to lots of great beaches! "We stayed at the house and enjoyed the private beach. We caught lots of crabs. We went to the hatchery, which is on Gwen‘s Island and got to learn about the oyster farming. We booked a charter with dead rise, charters captain Trey taught us all about the crabbing industry in the oyster industry the island Gwen’s Island Cottage is a nice little place. It was clean with the wonderful art on the walls. They had everything we needed to play in the water, kayaks, paddle boards, crab pot, crab nets....

"We absolutely loved this river cottage!! It had the perfect amount of space and everything we needed for a weekend away. We loved the proximity to Kilmarnock and Topping. The cottage itself had the most beautiful views. We enjoyed the charm of the home, featuring accents from the original cottage. Super cute! We would definitely stay again!"
