The Family Retreat is a newly renovated, 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath seasonal waterfront cabin located directly on Black Lake within Back Bay Campground. Sleeping up to 12 guests, it’s a great choice for family vacations, group getaways, and Black Lake fishing and boating trips.

Inside the Cabin

A short set of steps leads to the entrance and an open living, dining, and kitchen area. The updated kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals, with a dining table that seats eight.

The adjoining living room provides a comfortable place to relax with a recliner, Smart TV, and full-size sleeper sofa.

The cabin has three bedrooms:

• Bedroom 1: Queen bed
• Bedroom 2: Two sets of twin bunk beds
• Bedroom 3: Queen-over-queen bunk bed

A newly renovated full bathroom with a walk-in shower is located near the first two bedrooms, while a separate half bathroom is conveniently located near the third bedroom.

Three-Season Waterfront Sunroom

One of the highlights of The Family Retreat is its three-season sunroom overlooking the waterfront. It’s a comfortable place for morning coffee, relaxing with a book, or spending time together while enjoying the Black Lake setting. The sunroom also includes a full-size sleeper sofa for additional sleeping space.

Waterfront Outdoor Living

Being directly on Black Lake is a big part of the experience at The Family Retreat. Step outside onto the deck, settle into the Adirondack chairs, or gather around the smokeless fire pit after a day on the water.

Stairs lead down toward the semi-private waterfront dock, where guests can keep a boat during their stay, fish, launch a kayak or paddleboard, or simply spend time along the water.

The Family Retreat is a seasonal waterfront cabin on Black Lake and is currently available from May 1 through September 30. We hope to offer the cabin year-round in the future, so check back for expanded availability.

🏕️ Located at Back Bay Campground

The Family Retreat is located directly on the waterfront within Back Bay Campground, an active seasonal campground. Other cabins, campers, and guests will be nearby, so this is not an isolated vacation home.

You’ll have your own cabin and outdoor area while enjoying access to shared campground amenities including our heated pool, brand-new playground, 24/7 arcade and game room, walking trails, camp store, and more.

🥤 24/7 Vending & Bait

Early morning on the lake or a late-night craving? Back Bay Campground offers 24/7 vending with snacks and drinks, along with 24/7 bait and tackle vending. Anglers can grab what they need before heading onto Black Lake without waiting for the camp store to open.

🌊 Waterfront Dock & Boat Access

The cabin sits directly on Black Lake, with stairs leading down toward a semi-private waterfront dock. Guests bringing a boat can keep it at the dock during their stay, making it easy to get out on the water whenever you're ready.

The dock can also be used for fishing, accessing a kayak or paddleboard, or simply enjoying the waterfront. Please note that the dock is semi-private rather than exclusively reserved for The Family Retreat.

Bringing your own boat? Having the semi-private dock nearby gives you convenient access throughout your stay. Pontoon boats, fishing boats, kayaks, and paddleboards are also available to rent through Back Bay Campground, subject to availability, season, and weather. We recommend reserving boats in advance.

🔨 We're Continuing to Improve

The Family Retreat recently underwent extensive interior renovations, including updates to the kitchen and bathrooms. We’re continuing to invest in the cabin, with additional exterior improvements planned, including upgrades to the deck.
