"PROs: Spacious, comfortable, clean room. Lots of clean bathrooms. Kitchen with all facilities. Spacious dining area. Abandoned town yet beautiful. Close to the ocean hence walkable. The adjacent restaurant serves delicious food and plays great music. CONs: Located in an abandoned town due to an active volcano. Town smells like lava which is tolerable though. Becomes really quiet and lonesome at night which could appear scary and eerie to tourists. About a 25 minutes taxi ride from KEF airport."

"Bay View Apartments was amazing! Check-in was simple, the neighborhood is quiet, and the view can't be beat. The space was beautiful with lovely furniture and décor, a giant, clean hot tub inside the bathroom (!!), a good shower, awesome kitchen, living room, and laundry room. The bedrooms were also lovely. I wish I would have stayed here longer!"

"Get an upfront insight into the impact of the volcano eruption in the town of Grindavik. These modern “cabins” (more like tiny houses) face the harbor and are beautiful! The town was evacuated in 2024 due to the earthquakes and lava flow (which you drive right through). It’s amazing topography and you can get a sense of what the people from town went through. We love Icelanders, they are warm, hearty and kind. "

"We loved our stay. We had almost everything we needed! The location is great and we seen the northern lights 3 out of our 6 nights. The owners let us check in a bit early and were so kind! The only downside was there is no washer. We packed extremely light because the listings said there was one. It was a bit inconvenient, but we managed. The owner was very apologetic ans even offered to do our laundry. Regardless, we loved staying here."
