River House on the River

Completely remodeled in 2017, this two bedroom, one bath cabin is on the Gunnison River. The cabin is on 2.5 acres of riverfront property and across a footbridge that will take you to the Water Park (my balance isn't great and with no handrails, I do not use it). The Dos Rios Grill and Golf Course (open to the public) is a lovely .5 mile walk. A great spot for kayaking, trout fishing spot, and an excellent base camp for exploring the Gunnison valley. Located just miles from Hartman Rocks Rec area, Blue Mesa Reservoir, 2 miles from downtown Gunnison, Colorado, 1/2 mile from Dos Rios Golf Course and 30 miles from Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. Enjoy skiing, rafting, fly fishing, and biking right out your front door! We are in the flight path, but it's Gunnison airport, not DIA. I think the planes are cool to watch when they do fly over.

This property is shared with The Aspen House. All hammocks, firepits, and picnic tables are there for the two homes to share. There is a lot of room, so play nice and enjoy this park-like atmosphere!

Throughly enjoyed our stay. Easy access to Crested Butte & Blue Mesa Reservoir. Enjoyed how well stocked the kitchen was as we ate in most meals. The provided board games were a hit with our kids. They even put up a small Christmas tree as we were there around the holidays! Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property

This property was absolutely perfect for our party of 4. Beautiful, right on the river! Slept with the windows open and could hear the river all night!! We enjoyed a warm campfire in the cool temps every night. Check in and out was a breeze! Beds were super comfy. Loved the location for our hiking and sightseeing adventures!! Highly recommended!!

Fishing Trip - Family Fun

House has all the amenities in spades. Easy access for fisherman going to Blue Mesa/Taylor or the Gunnison river out your back door.Sitting in the back yard around a campfire watching the hawks eat the fish right out of the river. Magical!Easily handle 2 couples in the lodge with a option of one extra on the couch/living room.Property manager instantly took all my simple questions via txt that I was confused on.Looking forward to next year!10/10

Need more towels

It was a great house to stay in. It was very cozy and clean. Location was amazing. River behind the house was such an awesome touch. My only complaints were we couldn’t get the tv to work, and they didn’t give enough towels to use for more than one night. No one wants to wash towels daily on vacation. We did buy some towels and just left them at property for the next guest hopefully.

Fantastic location!

We really enjoyed our stay at this special property. The location is unparalleled, right on the Gunnison river with tons of privacy. We enjoyed bonfires out by the river in the evening. And loved seeing the wild life everywhere foxes ducks deer you name it. This place is amazing I would really recommend it if you were thinking about staying in the area.

Fabulous

We stayed at this property the end of September and were able to see the beauty of the changing colors in the mountains. The River House was the perfect place as it gave us easy access to several passes that had amazing views. We came back after a day of exploring to the sound of a running water as we sat outside and enjoyed the mountain feed river that was in the back yard. It was a fabulous setting to read, relax and have a fire in the fire pit. I don't know when I've gone home this relaxed and refreshed. The only suggestion is a different door to the deck as it is only a storm door and the security is really lacking with this type of entrance. Otherwise, it had everything we needed.

Exceeded Expectations

We had a wonderful 4 days. My husband was able to fly fish in the beautiful river right behind the house. We enjoyed the water & trail near the area. Diffidently will be returning soon.

The River House with a spectacular view

We have stayed twice at the River House and have loved it both times. Being right by the river is spectacular. Every night we had a bonfire. You can walk to the City Park and swim in the river and tube down the mini rapid. The host is very helpful and quick to respond. We will be back again!

Gary Allen song . Just few a day . Landing of Jets was cool . Best part your falling asleep with windows open you can hear the River . Very Clean , Quality Linens , Everything you need to Cook with etc .

Absolutely Beautiful - 5 STAR PLUS

Beautiful patio deck to enjoy overlooking the river. Great fishing within walking distance to the house. Secluded yet just a couple of miles from the town. Great location. Very comfortable and clean beds. Especially loved the comfortable living room with the large windows overlooking the river. Very nice. Would highly recommend staying here. We'll stay here again if our travels brings us back to Gunnison.

OUTSTANDING!!

The king size bed had high quality, CLEAN, soft cotton sheets paIred with comfortable mattress, with a view of the river while you lay in bed. The kitchen was well stocked. The living room had a CLEAN, very comfortable sofa as well as a comfortable loveseat with matching large ottoman. The bathroom was also clean and the full size shower had great water pressure; vanity with plenty of counterspace. Bath towels were clean, no stains and of good quality. The keyless entry was superb..so easy! The location was OUTRAGEOUSLY GREAT! This house had a side and back deck and you could view the flowing river from eveywhere around the property as well as every window in the house. There were two, 5 to 10 feet long, foot bridges. One led from the parking area to the house and another to a wooded area that was part of a nearby park, which did not hinder our privacy. Last BUT not least, the property Manager, Jenny Lain was sooo nice and patient. We got a little lost and she guided us on the phone the last mile directly to the vrbo. Later on, as the hair blow dryer was MIA, she sent Mark, who was also, very pleasant and polite, over within an hour with a brand new blow dryer. She was always patient and pleasant with all emails, txts and phone conversations. We apprecaiated her so much...thanks for everything Jenny (and Mark)!! Now anyone can see why I highly recommend this gem in the woods by the river!

Go with flow along the Gunnison

Everything you need to kick back and relax. So easy to get to hiking, fishing and the water park. Downtown has great food options! Access to Crested Butte, Monarch and even Salida were great. Closure of the Hwy 50 Bridge over Blue Mesa didnt mess with the relaxation of the river and the comfort of the River House. THANK YOU Jenn for your flexibility and understanding.

Sit back and relax

The River House is truly right on the river. The home has expansive windows that allow you to see the tall pine trees and beautiful clear river. If it were summer it would have been a perfect fly fishing spot.
