Crystal Shores is a family-friendly beachfront resort that is within walking distance of fine-dining, shopping and concert/festival venues. The elevator was not working. I called when we got here because we were on the 10th floor with 3 levels of parking garage. . No one returned the call so i called again on Monday still nothing. . Totally not acceptable.

Great Place

We have never been to Gulf Shores Alabama this was a first. When we arrived the condo was clean and ready for us. The first thing we noticed was it is a good size and well furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped for any cooking you may want or need to do. We did all of our breakfasts and lunches at the condo and about half our dinners. The unit is on the beach and accessing it is an easy walk. The beach is clean and wasn't crowded at all but that is probably due to when we went. The pool is very nice with a built in whirlpool. The grounds are well maintained also. The downsides were the elevators which they were working on. For nearly two weeks there was only one running which was a bit of a pain. The other issue was people wanting to come in and do work. One fellow wanted to change filters and check light bulbs, the other wanted to spray for bugs. These are things that should be done when the unit is being readied for the next renter. Minor inconvenience. Where this unit is located you will have to drive to get to anything. Also be aware in Alabama alcohol is very expensive, 30% more than my home state so stock up before you come. It was also hard to get away from fried food but it is the south.

I was very impressed by how clean it was & not sandy!! Most places weā€™ve stayed before we could feel the sand on your feet in the condo & also in the sheets. I did not feel that at all in this condo!! Also they had every dish, pot, pan, cookie sheet, utensil that we needed!! And towels & wash clothes for everyone staying!! Highly recommended!!

Beach trip 2024

We had a great stay at Crystal Shores west!! The condo was central to most all restaurants and the walk to the beach was perfect! It was refreshing that it was only about 50-100 feet to the ocean! It was so easy to carry our chairs down to the beach! The condo was exactly as pictured! And the price was amazing! I will definitely stay here again!!!

The condo was very nice and clean, Only one elevator worked most of the time. The air conditioner would not cool below 75 even when it was set on 70. The experience wasn't horrible but some improvements could help them a lot I think.

Great stay

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location and the condo itself was perfect for our needs. We had three adults and two young children, but there was enough room to accommodate a couple more people if needed. Only a few small complaints: when we arrived, there were no towels and the master bed had no bedding on it. We contacted the management company and they sent someone to resolve that immediately. Also there was no hair dryer, but again thatā€™s a minor issue. Overall, it was a great trip and we would stay again in the future.

Great condo but terrible staff

The condo itself was wonderful. It was exactly was is pictured and clean. Upon arrival the unit had not been cleaned yet and our check in time was delayed for almost two hours. Throughout our stay the pool manager was extremely rude and closed the pool several times not allowing guests to use it.

Gulf Front Tranquility

Property was updated, very clean, and had amazing views. The only negative I had was the lack of water pressure in the shower but that was expected with a large complex. We loved the upgraded appliances in the kitchen and the full size front loader washer and dryer was an awesome feature. I was also super excited to find a vacuum cleaner in the closet as well I hate grit on my feet and like to go barefoot so kudos for that as well.

Wonderful Experience

My husband and I brought our 9 year old granddaughters and 6 year old grandson and had an amazing time. Condo was perfect and spotless. Management company was excellent in communication and weather was perfect too. We definitely would stay here again

My husband, sister, and brother in law came down for a long weekend - the room was perfect. It was nice to have a washer and dryer and balcony with access from master bedroom and living room. The view was great and access to the beach was so convenient!

Quiet and Steps to the Beach

My sisters and nieces stayed here for a long weekend. It was perfect! The beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. It was also very clean. Our favorite thing was we didnā€™t have to walk for with all of our beach gear. It was a quiet area. Weā€™ve already talked about staying here again next year!

The view is breathtaking! If you have someone with you and hat doesnā€™t want to walk the beach to enjoy the Gulf, they donā€™t have to. Everything was perfect! The condo was spacious & we loved the decor. The cleanliness was top notch. Would love to return!

Great Location

We loved the beach and location of the property. The condo had everything we needed with cookware and supplies in the kitchen. It was well-stocked. The layout worked wonderfully for our family. We appreciated the bunk beds and queen bed for our three children in one room. The game room was a favorite for our family with foosball and pool tables. We prefer a more quiet location and this was it. However, we were close enough to ride our bikes to breakfast and other area businesses. We plan to return to this property in the future.

Construction & Closures

DO NOT BOOK with itripvacations unless you ask all the right questions first! Because this was our first trip to Gulf Shores I researched different properties for weeks and contacted at least three different owners/rental companies. NOWHERE in the entire listing did it say that construction on the ROOF would be going on starting at 6am or earlier every morning. (We were on the 10th floor) The listing also NEVER mentioned that the outdoor pool would be closed whenever the crane was operating outside. As far as we saw the doors remained locked from 6am to 7pm. The building management was helpful and sympathetic to complaints but ultimately it was up to itripvacations to let us know. I looked up our original listing while sitting on the beach and there was a new ā€œdisclaimerā€ about the work being done right at the beginning, it hadnā€™t been there when we booked. I complained to itripvacations about the noise twice and received a small refund after the first time, Iā€™m still waiting to hear back after the second. From now on I will ask all the important questions regardless of what the listing says.
