….MORNE TRULAH: It’s a refuge, a bird sanctuary, a work-from-home office with fiber- optic broadband, a fully self-contained family compound; private, secluded, and secure; registered and licensed accommodation.

The Morne Trulah Estate is a vertiable Mount Olympus, a 9-acre tract of unspoiled rain forest and tropical gardens perched atop a mountain peninsula surrounded 270º by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Within this Eden rests the ruins of a 17c French fort-- among which one of the world's most outstanding and desirable homes was built in 1964 and restored 2013-2017.

At the base of the penninsula (3-minutes walk along the footpath) are three clean, safe, quiet, and uncrowded beaches: Trouya Beach, Cuti Cove, and Windjammer Beach.

The Morne Trulah Estate commands spectacular panoramic views in every cardinal direction and from every room. It wants for nothing-- and neither shall you-- as it offers its guests a standard of luxury greater than any other. You will be treated and feel like royalty.

Lounge Areas  As you enter the residence from the South a twenty-foot high, cantilevered cathedral ceiling lifts your spirits. The soaring rooflines frame sublime water views to the North, South, East and West. Beneath your feet rest 500-year-old Tudor bricks and Welsh slate (i.e. repurposed ballast from ancient trading ships coming to the island from England) and extend from the entrance northward through the covered lanai overlooking an infinity pool, Pigeon Point in Rodney Bay, and beyond to Martinique.
To the East  The croquet lawn and vibrant bougainvilla hedges frame Trouya Beach and surreal views of Morne Flambeau and Morne Pimard;
Westward  Sunsets beckon and illuminate the unbroken expanse of the Caribbean Sea and the islet locally known as Barrel O'Beef Rock.
To the North  the historic Pigeon Point stands guard at the entrance to Rodney Bay, protecting the island from any of a number of historical invasions launched from Martinique (which can be clearly seen in the distance on most days).
South, East and West  Whether you like to relax with a good book while perched overlooking Trouya Beach or to sip sunset cocktails while sailing ships float gently by in hope of catching the phenomenal 'green flash' at sunset, Morne Trulah is the island’s most perfect residence.

Home Theatre Area  Inside a cozy nook off the main living area rests the home theatre. Designed for comfortable family viewing, the cinema features a 60-inch Sony Bravia television, Yamaha surround sound and Apple TV.

Chef’s Kitchen  If you choose to cook, this kitchen is a chef’s dream. In addition to 180 degree views over the Caribbean, the kitchen boasts a full assortment of commercial appliances and dinner service. It's a dream kitchen come to life.

Dining Area  Just off the kitchen is the dining area-- also featuring 180 degree water views framed by the soaring cathedral ceiling. Some compare the feel of the room to being in a giant tree house overlooking the azure sea below.

Guest Suites  Every Morne Trulah guest debates which bedroom suite has the best views. All have spectacular window walls reaching out to the Sea in two cardinal directions and feature their own newly renovated, ensuite bathrooms featuring double vanities and rain showers. Whether you enjoy night-time sea breezes or air conditioning, you will be cool and comfortable in your King-sized canopy bed. Outside your suite a private wrap-around deck awaits, enabling you to savour the views indoors or out.

Nine Lush Seaside Acres  Morne Trulah enjoys one of the Caribbean’s finest tropical gardens contained within a high-security, 10’ high security fence. We secure the perimeter of the compound so that our guests don’t have to live behind security bars like caged animals!
The botanic garden surrounding the house has been cultivated over a fifty-year period by three generations of owners; the gardens host hundreds of orchids, exotic trees and local fauna and flora unique to the island. The gardens were conceived in 1964 to take advantage of St Lucia’s rich volcanic soil, the island’s perfect growing conditions, and Morne Trulah’s spectacular views. The previous owners enlisted the island’s foremost horticulturalist, Veronica Shingleton-Smith (owner of Mamiku Botanic Gardens) to oversee the construction of planting out of the gardens. With a background in London stage design, her creation provides the dramatic structure. More recent works by Michael Mills amended and extended the gardens with the richest soils and collections of the island’s most exotic and endangered plant species. The current owners expanded Ms. Shingleton-Smith's original vision by adding an additional three seaside acres to the garden’s original four. Continuing under the unbroken tutelage of Ms Shingleton Smith, hundreds of tons of volcanic top soil was trucked in and tens of thousands of new plantings were established. Morne Trulah now boasts the island’s largest variety of microclimates, exotic flowering trees, fruit trees, vegetables, herbs and rare plam trees.

½ km Nature Trail  The 2013 addition of three more acres enabled the creation of a private, half-kilometer nature trail that circumnavigates Morne Trulah. Further purchases secured the hinterlands to protects the views.

Beginning on the west side of the property, one enjoys perfect serenity walking along the top of a seaside cliff shaded by ancient old-growth trees. The pathway itself is covered with a carpet of zoisa grass and meanders through hundreds of coconut palms, bananas, pineapples, citrus, cocoa, passion fruit and scores of other tropical species. The views are uninterrupted across Choc Bay toward Castries Harbour. It is unimaginably beautiful.

The path emerges at the north end of the property where one enjoys uninterrupted views of Martinique and Pigeon Island while strolling amongst the coconut palms and bogenvilla. Around the east side of the property gentle waves crash into Trouya Beach as one winds around to the Morne Trulah vegetable and herb gardens.

Kitchen Garden  As a Morne Trulah guest you are free to pick whatever vegetables, fruits and herbs you like. Or tell one of the gardeners what you would like and they will pick it for you and prepare it for your table. Depending upon the season, enjoy fresh mangoes, pineapples, bananas, watermelon, pumpkin, tomatoes, grapefruit, and many other vegetables and fruits. If you like to cook, help yourself to the fresh thyme, basil, parsley, bay, rosemary and the many other herbs growing there.

Croquet Lawn  Morne Trulah boasts the island’s only croquet lawn. Created by the head greenskeeper for the Saint Lucia Golf Club, the green features a 21 metre-long expanse with idyllic, 180 degree views over Rodney Bay toward Pigeon Island and Martinique. The croquet court cum bowling green can also be used as a putting green, for lawn tennis or bowling as well as for large, private events such as weddings and anniversaries. We can seat 400 guests or host 150 for a meal.

The Morne Trulah Estate provides offers a full-service concierge whereby all transfers by helicopter or mini-van, transportation, provisioning, private-chef, on-site personal spa services, on-site massage, event planning, excursions, and private water sporting activities may be booked and the logistics handled seamlessly; concierge services are offered for a surcharge on the receipted costs of the products and services we secure on your behalf.

Beautiful vacation house for our family

When your kids say "this is the perfect vacation" it's the best feeling in the world. We all wanted some sun and a beach and a pretty place to unwind. We wanted good food and decent activities close by if we ventured out, but a place we were happy to never leave too. Our stay at Morne Trulah was all of that and more. The entire team was warm and welcoming and lovely. They somehow managed to make us feel completely at home even though we were there for less than a week. They were there the minute we needed something but otherwise let us have our privacy. The house has this 1960's James Bond Caribbean resort vibe with stone floors and high wood ceilings and 4-poster beds that open out onto private decks but the bathrooms and kitchen are updated and it all works well together. We cooked 2 big dinners in the kitchen and all agreed that we were going home to re-design our own. It's a cook's kitchen with a working island in the middle and it's stocked with everything from pots and pans to hand graters and bbq skewers, serving pieces, ice machine and blender. The 10 minute walk down to the almost private cove and beach was a great walk and the water was surprisingly warm. We were there in December. Had a great dinner one night at the Naked Fisherman, and enjoyed a couple hours at Pigeon Island...all about 15-20 minutes away. The property itself is breathtaking. It took us a few trips to get used to the steep road up to the gate but it was completely fine.Thank you to the whole team!

Amazing Property

This estate is truly a first-class property. From the moment of arrival to departure, we were treated with exceptional care. A talented chef prepared exquisite meals for us most evenings, catering perfectly to our dietary needs. The concierge was highly attentive, ensuring all of our requests were met and greatly enhancing our stay. The property caretaker was a delight, always willing to assist with any of our request. Additionally, the housekeepers were outstanding, maintaining our rooms and managing laundry with impeccable attention to detail. Will definitely stay the next time we visit St. Lucia.

Wonderful experience

We had such a great time. The property is absolutely beautiful. Catherine, the head housekeeper was beyond amazing. Lousious the security guard was Beyond gracious to my family. He looked after us very well. I would highly recommend staying here, not only to experience the beautiful property and island, but also the amazing staff takes care of this property.

Beautiful in every way

My wife and I had the most wonderful time at Michaels place. The property just leaves you speechless in trying to describe it. Where to start? Its a dream. It’s just so wonderful everywhere you look and the staff so attentive and kind. We couldn’t have been happier. I wish we could have stayed forever. A piece of heaven

A little piece of heaven is how I would describe Morne Trulah. If you are looking for tranquility and a vacation where you can completely unwind then this property offers that in abundance. The house is exquisite from the interiors, to the lush forest landscaped garden outside. I honestly never wanted to leave. The beds are very comfortable the house provides everything you could need. All the staff were fabulous and made my holiday so much more memorable from cooking me authentic dishes to sharing some rich history about the island. Michael thought of everything so I didn’t have to. 7 star service at all times. all the activities I did were coordinated by the concierge and I had days when I went out exploring the island and other days where I just sat by the infinity pool and relaxed. Definitely a holiday I will repeat in the future.

The dreamiest home ever.

I’ve stayed in many beautiful places throughout the world, but Morne Trulah is in a class of its own. Must be seen to be believed. The views go all the way around! We woke up early each morning to see the sunrise between the mountains to the east, enjoyed the sun as it passed overhead, watched the sunset to the west, then watched the stars overhead at night unsullied by light pollution— all from the one same place. Having traveled all over the island during our holiday, I can confidently say that nothing remotely compares to Morne Trulah. I wish we would’ve stayed here our entire trip rather than having stayed for part of it down south. The food, the staff, the decor, the views, the service!!! All truly extraordinary and I’m exceptional. We are coming back for Thanksgiving and plan to make Morne Trulah our new regular annual getaway place.

Fantastic Destination

Our stay at Morne Trulah was incredible! Michael's staff were all first rate and extremely accommodating. Two weeks went by way too quickly. The grounds are beautiful and extremely private. Sherma was a fantastic concierge and did a great job facilitating excursions, transportation, and dining experiences on and off the property. The property caretaker, Lucius, was available whenever we needed something and was very kind to all of us. The made to order breakfast prepared for us each morning by Katherine and her housekeeping staff was fantastic! All of the staff were top notch. I don't think I've ever been so relaxed on a vacation! We would love to return someday! St. Lucia is truly a wonderful island!

Exceeds expectations.

The house, property, staff and overall experience exceeded our expectations! Amazing, private and tranquil location with amazing views from all parts of the property. Great layout could find the sun/shade, great proximity to beaches and amenities. Pool, hot tub, croquet, cards you name it! Lovely! Very easy to get to various locations within 10 min drive. Concierge service took care of all of our needs and made our trip easy. We loved all of the staff and they took great care of us. Treated us like family. St Lucia is a beautiful Country, Island with kind, proud and amazing people. Would definitely come here again. Great hosts! Loved It!

The property is fabulous and the staff is excellent. The staff was the best we ever had compare to our many trips. The 3 teen grandkids didn’t have enough activity so it is a better place for adults.

Wonderful experience…

We were made to feel like family every minute we were there. Could not have asked for a better location for our first time in St Lucia. The grounds are kept spectacular by Sherman and the beautiful ladies (house staff) kept us fed with the best fruit, juices and specialties. Highly recommend you use their management team for transportation, recommendations, tours, etc. Each experience was top notch.

The most amazing place in St. Lucia

The VRBO was the most amazing place on the whole island. My fiancé and I explored the whole island, hiked the pitons, but we both agree the best part of the trip was the estate. I even proposed by the pool. Thanks again!

Spectacular setting

We've just had a wonderful week at Michael's place, the location is fabulous and the views are about as good as you could ever hope for. The layout of the property is simple and works perfectly, a main atrium living room with huge open sides (patio doors open on every side) is at the centre with 4 great air-con bedrooms off each side along with an open plan outdoor kitchen and dining area. We loved watching the hummingbirds flitting about while eating breakfast. Michael's staff are a lovely bunch and made breakfast and lunch each day for us. You can walk down to a pretty little beach (in need of a bit of a clear up with rubbish sadly but I am sure will get sorted now tourism is back up and running) or just lounge round the pool at the house and enjoy the extensive grounds, including a lovely croquet lawn complete with Jaques croquet set! We did hire a car and it was really useful to be able to pop into Rodney Bay and explore further afield, this was delivered to the house for us by Michael's concierge service. All in all a perfect Caribbean retreat!

Gorgeous Morne Trulah!!

As I was shoveling almost 8” of snow I thought of where I was one week ago….spending the week at lovely Morne Trulah! Morne Trulah exceeded our expectations in so many ways. It is absolutely lovely and the views are just stunning—the pictures cannot do it justice! The pool was fantastic, the grounds gorgeous and the privacy you have is absolutely refreshing. From the onset, Michael was a terrific host, reaching out and sharing information on the house and the island. Sherma, our concierge, was so helpful in developing an itinerary for our stay and booked all activities, drivers, and dinners based on our interests and input. Catherine and Sherman were amazing and made sure all our needs were met—they were so personable and friendly! Make sure you do the catamaran trip (private, if possible) with the sulphur springs and waterfall, rainforest tram/ziplining, and Pigeon Island. Fast Track going through customs when you land in St. Lucia is a must and saves a ton of time!! Great home in which to spend our vacation!

The property is large with several places to spend time in the sun or shade. You can easily enjoy family time or quiet solitude. Villa is well laid out with four king bed on-suites and common areas inside and out. We tended to spend most of our time on the sun deck above the pool or the round table just off the kitchen.

Nature and luxury coincide

If you want your party to be part of a nature based luxury and have privacy, with the exception of an attentive day staff and easily accessible property manager, then this is the answer to your prayers. It is like being on top of the island. Terrific views from every angle. Birds, indigenous lizards, and sounds of the rainforest accent the beautiful scenery. Flowers, fruit, and trees are all around left us in awe. The infinity pool, hammocks, lounging beds, swing, ah! Wonderful. If possible rent your own vehicle, but be aware the roads are steep, curvy, and fast... and steers on the right. If you are doubtful, even a little, leave it to the professionals/skilled. You'll pay a pricey fee due to high gas prices, but it's worth the safety.

You have to see it to believe it.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. It is so much better than one could possibly imagine from the photos. The property is massive with panoramic views and lush tropical gardens. It feel like a world unto yourself. We tasted Paradise and will find it impossible to forget Morne Trulah, the staff, and the owners genuine interest in our well being. . The staff catered to our every desire. Nothing was too much to ask. We wanted for nothing. I have never been treated so well in my life. It will be impossible to forget this place. You should put Morne Trulah on your bucket list-- You won't regret it.
