"Lovely situation - large room that was clean. However walking in it felt quite down at heel, a bit like a scruffy airport waiting area. We ate in the restaurant on arrival - the food was edible. However, the staff at reception and in the restaurant were welcoming and attentive."

"The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. "Used as a quick stop over on the way north so was in and out in under 12 hours. However for the price the room was good had everything i needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was generally really quiet so slept well. Breakfast was okay for a bit of cereal and a coffee did not have anything cooked. Perfectly fine for a quick stop off"
