We just stayed here a few weeks ago, the day after the worst storms that Crete had seen in 40 years (that were centred over the nearby village). The hotel is lovely, well maintained and clean, with decent facilities for a small hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food in the little restaurant by the pool was very nice and had some good local options. We had bed and breakfast and there were some good options for breakfast, with a bit of variety. We strolled into town most nights for an evening meal and there is a good selection of places on the seafront to choose from - although all those restaurants by the beach have very similar menus, whereas the hotel's menu was a bit different. They were all nice though.
It is about half an hour by car driving to Heraklion, and because the weather was not great we also took in a few other sites such as Zeus caves, Spinalonga and Knossos which were about 40m to 1h15m away.
Would stay at this hotel again.
