Golf Club da Tasmânia

Checked out after 1 night. Rooms filthy. Dust everywhere. Paper in toilet. Crumbs all over floor. Heaters can’t be adjusted in rooms. Toilet door was literally falling off its hinges and wouldn’t close. Toilet seat broken. Power switches cracked and damaged. “Bond” taken by phone reception after hours - left standing in freezing cold waiting for phone to be answered. Offered other rooms the next morning (621 & 622). Both were dusty, smelled mouldy and 622 also stunk of urine. Receptionist was amazing and bent over backwards to help. Management team also responsive, but I cannot recommend.

Check-in was confusing, as there was no one at reception on arrival. When I called the provided number, I was instructed to open a locked room that was already occupied by another guest, which was quite concerning. There were also no clear instructions provided for the check-out process. Since my stay, I have been receiving emails stating that payment has not been made. This is incorrect, as I paid in full at the time of booking and have receipts to confirm this.

It was wonderful. I’ve been lucky enough to stay at some beautiful hotels around the world, and this one is definitely up there. It’s a character-filled property with stunning views from the Charles Fox Room. We enjoyed uninterrupted privacy, with no check-in formalities and no housekeeping interruptions. We were simply left to relax and reset. The shared pantry was lovely and it felt like home. This will be our place to stay whenever we’re in Hobart.
