"Only two staff trying to run hotel. Had to wait for a table then service, even though the restaurant only had a couple of people in it. As the girl couldn’t run everything, not her fault. Food was terrible and dry with brown coleslaw. The hotel didn’t seem that busy considering it was Easter weekend. Had the same problem I at the other Premiere Inn hotel in Exeter last year."

"Overall a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly, the evening meal was good as was the breakfast. If the hotel has high occupancy the restaurant can get very busy at breakfast time, but the reception staff did warn us of this. "

"Stayed one night for music event nearby. Location perfect for walking into city centre & train station. Very clean, food good, beds super comfy. Kettle, tea, coffee & towels all available to use in our room. Staff very friendly & attentive. Parking at rear was FOC - nice perk! Very quiet at night - our room was at rear. After returning from our gig on a cold wet April night, it was so so nice to open the front door and the central heating had been put on. 😊"

"Absolutely loved our weekend at the Dower House! Amazing location surrounded by nature, the building is so beautiful and our room was huge and had every comfort. All the things you don't find in chain hotels are here - four poster bed, comfy sofa, coffee table and chairs sat amongst a wonderful backdrop, dark and quiet at night for a great sleep. And not to forget the amazing and genuine owners, Tim and Rosemarie, and Teresa who served a great breakfast "

"This is a lovely hotel. We didn't know what to expect and upon arrival, were delighted by the decor, cleanliness, and the professionalism of the manager who greeted us. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all of the basic amenities that we would expect. Breakfast was next level. A full English breakfast, including a full gluten-free and veggie option with doorstop toast. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future, and can't recommend it enough if...

"Lovely clean room with very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Superb views across to the hills behind the village. Very nice toiletries provided and excellent tea/coffee/hot chocolate in room facilities with biscuits! I really enjoyed the comfortable residents lounge which was unexpected but a nice place to relax and read a book (motor racing or vehicle enthusiasts will enjoy the book selection).
