This cabin is much cozier and more attractive than its photos. We loved the earthy decor and the many sitting areas both inside and outside. Unfortunately, because of changes in the local law, the gas firepit outside had to be removed which took away from that sitting area. It was nice that there are few steps to the entrance and that there was a bedroom on the main level for one member of our group with balance issues. The wooden steps from the main level to the basement have warped some over time which made them a bit challenging for someone with mobility issues, although there are hand rails on both sides which helped. The steam shower on the main level was a favorite. Also loved the number of nearby hiking trails and the closeness to Idaho Springs. We would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again.

Great stay. The amenities were as described. Lots of living and sleeping space with a very functional kitchen. Very clean and easy to maintain during our stay. The surrounding outdoor space was beautiful.

Beautiful! We stayed there for our son’s wedding and it was beautiful and the perfect location for getting to the venue - 5 minutes away!! Definitely would recommend this property. The owner was great to communicate with!

A beautiful, well-managed property only about a 10 minute drive from downtown Idaho Springs. The house itself is gorgeous and is only outshone by the surrounding nature. Every morning we got to sit on the spacious porch and watch the sunrise against the mountains while listening to the little creek that runs right infront of the house. The management is fantastic as well. I had a lot of questions prior and during our stay and Liz always promptly responded, completely answering my questions with kindness and patience. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Idaho Springs area.

The cabin was wonderful for a girls’ weekend! Description and pictures are accurate. Plenty of space for 6-8 adults. The wrap around porch is awesome and the main floor kitchen / living area is a great gathering spot. You are definitely in nature but still only 10 min from Idaho Springs town with shopping, breweries, restaurants, etc. Liz was responsive. Check-in was easy. Minor feedback: refresh outdoor cushions and add a storage bin. Also - we couldn’t figure out how to cast to the TV to watch sports / live TV (maybe user error and not totally necessary for a weekend trip). 10/10 would stay again!

Here are some areas for improvement: The lighting was unwelcoming and did not provide any ambience. There was only one thermostat in a three level house, so difficult to regulate temperature in different areas. Some of the outdoor seating was tattered badly and should’ve been thrown away. Tattered towels and bedding, one downstairs bed smelled very doggy and we had to rewash. Vacuum cleaner was completely full and had to empty, dryer was broken and needs repair. Windows, ceiling fan and chandeliers were very dirty and dusty. One upstairs room had no dresser.

Family Vacation 2025

Property and surroundings were amazing. The house was perfect for our group of 8 adults and 4 kids. We were disappointed that the fire pit and grill had been removed due to regulations. The beautiful walkway, seating and fire pit was a main selling point when we were renting this property. The house is fully equipped with anything you would need. No AC but as we were out during the day it cooled down quickly for sleeping. The brook right by the house was pleasant to listen to at night. We had a couple foxes that came right up to the house. Very beautiful property.

Gorgeous home and views

This is a beautiful home that was perfect for our yearly trip with friends! There were 10 of us (5 couples) and we had plenty of room for hanging out together inside and out and plenty of beds and bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and we greatly appreciated having plenty of garbage bags, toilet paper and paper towels on hand. The owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Future renters should know that there was a recent change in local permits which means there is no longer access to the grill or fire pit on the property. The listing is accurate but the photos still show these items and other guests mention using them in their reviews. We did not miss the grill or the fire pit because it is such a gorgeous location and the kitchen is amazing! There is no A/C but there are fans in most bedrooms so while it did get a little warm in the upstairs bedrooms during the daytime it cooled off quickly. There was very little road traffic while we were there. You can't beat the location- off the beaten path but still close to town and other attractions with amazing views. We would love to come back again!

Wonderful getaway house in a beautiful setting

The house is really lovely. Five bedroom and 3.5 baths and plenty of space for 10 best friends. The property is really pretty, complete with a babbling brook right outside the door and a couple of foxes who kept an eye on us during our stay. The owner was really quick to get back to me when I had questions. No cell service but there is WiFi. Great place!

Birthday in Colorado!

Three Owls is an absolutely beautiful, peaceful retreat. I rented it for the second time to put the finishing touches on my sister's birthday celebration. She said she wanted to experience peace, space, beauty, and an exceptional view. Three Owls, has all of it from the interior to the exterior. We sat on the porch and listened to the stream and chimes, when the wind blew. The property looks like it does in the photos. Perfect! When we walked in, there were fresh flowers and a card from Liz (the property host), welcoming "her" to the property, with a warm birthday wish...just wow! Three Owls is amazing! A few minutes away from the highway, food, shops and plenty of beauty.
