  • Historic home in Clayton. This home was originally the town bank. Just one block to the mighty Mississippi River, public boat launch, The Lighthouse and Bill's Bar and Grill!

    Two bedroom, two bathroom home. With wonderful views of the Mississippi River. Bluffs are perfect for leaf looking!

    This beautiful river getaway was once the Clayton Savings Bank. The original bank was built in 1914 and remodeled into this great Mississippi River home in the last 20 years. The original charm of the bank can still be seen today - large arched windows, high ceilings, original wood floors, burglar alarm and original safe door just to name a few!

    In the new addition of the home you will find two ensuite bedrooms. One on the main level and one on the second level. From the second level bonus room you have one of the best views of the Mississippi in all of Clayton. Two additional trundle beds in the bonus room.

Very clean and great location close to restaurants, accommodative for a busy 4th of July weekend. The kids and grandkids loved the living space and outlay of this bank turned VRBO.

The property was spacious and comfortable. We love the vault door to the laundry room. The sofa and bed were very, very comfortable all of them, and it was a well laid out kitchen for a former small town bank. We would highly recommend it. If you love trains and barges on the Mississippi river and a small town community feeling, this is the retreat for you.

Great property, very clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen for cooking. Only 2 small complaints, tv/roku wouldn’t hook up to WiFi, and no toaster. Great job!

Great property and location for the local Froelich Fal-der-all. Clean and spacious and in a tiny fun town. The only issue was with my family and my parents we needed all the beds and one of the beds upstairs had a broken frame with 6 or 7 slats that were busted so we had to move the mattress to the floor for my 8 year old. Not the biggest issue, but with 1 message through the app and 1 through direct email there was no response. Didn’t want to be responsible for damage to something that was already that way when we checked in Friday. Would have liked to get a response and left a written note as well on the bed. Overall beyond that a really cool location that my kids just loved!

Perfect location to visit pikes peak, the river restaurant pub was convenient & very good. The view from the bedroom window was beautiful. Thank you!

We really enjoyed the open layout & multiple beds to have our annual girls weekend. The large kitchen was nice to not have to eat out every meal. Couldn't find the toaster though, and the filtered water spigot at the sink was leaking into the sink with little water pressure to actually fill a cup.

This was a great, comfortable place to stay. Very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The only problem we had was the tv didn’t work because it wouldn’t connect to the internet. The NCAA tournament was on and we wanted to watch some games but there were two restaurants/bars within walking distance so we were able to watch there. Jack did send someone to try to get the tv on line but they were unable to do so. All in all, we loved staying there and hope to come back.

Beautiful home in a lovely town

The home is historical and beautiful. Nicely appointed with almost anything you could possibly need in the kitchen and bathrooms. One block from the river and train tracks. Many things to do in the area. We absolutely loved our long weekend in Clayton.

Large Spacious Home

We loved our stay - very spacious and kitchen was fully furnished. Everything we needed for our stay was available. Not a single issue with anything. We have a large family gathering 2x a year in Clayton and will definitely consider this home again.

Beautiful building, clean and quiet. Lovely view. Nice little town, close to nice trout streams. Owner not great with communication, states there is internet but was not able to get roku to work at all so no TV at all to watch football games at night 😟 not sure if it was just the roku but my internet would not work on my phone once I hooked up to their wifi. Contacted host with no reply. Very beautiful home and very clean tho. Easy access just bring a deck of cards!

Fun weekend getaway!

My gal pals and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the historically charming, yet super comfortable, Clayton Bank! Plenty of room for all of us to sleep and nice open areas for games & late night chats plus a large kitchen so we didn't have to eat out. The train does come through close several times a night, but by the 2nd night you get more used to it. The dishwasher was the only thing not working & communicating with the owner was not very easy, but we'd definitely stay again.

The Bank house

The House itself is quite large and spacious. It’s well appointed, with everything you might need. It was a struggle to get the key to work to get in the sliding door entry… Guessing that it was a new key and just needed a little smooth. The remotes for the TVs had no batteries or dead batteries, unfortunately. Overall we love the location! perfect walking distance to the Lighthouse.

our only complaint was the property boasted wi-fi and it did not the internet was not turned on. Numerous attempts to contact property manager went unanswered. even customer service reps from vrbo got no resolution
