"Beautiful views with amazing hospitality. Family run and the owner is quite involved and very kind, he chatted with us three times during our one night stay (check in/out and restaurant). Grandchildren playing and helping out gives this hotel a wonderful homey summer camp feel, as do the available amenities (table tennis, rooftop views, indoor + outdoor onsens) and watercraft rentals (saw paddleboards and kayaks). "This is the small hotel that they use the exterior for the Netflix drama series “ Hot Spot”. The interior is much more spacious than what we see in the TV show. It is located in the remote area and it’s inconvenient for shopping, etc. However, it is an advantage for people who want to avoid the hassle of overtourism in the Mt. Fuji area. "A basic inn, but staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful and our mountain view rooms were spectacular. A bit of a distance from the station, but worth it to be so close to Fuji. Walk to many restaurants."

"We had a lovely experience staying in Sakuya hotel. The owners were very kind and helpful, offered us shuttle van to go to town. Offered us private onsen which was very relaxing. Rooms were futon bed with a view of Mt Fuji, breakfast was so yum. Would definitely come next time. "
