The Explorers Rest- Garden - Frome

Summary:
Relax at this historic Grade II listed cottage after a day of exploration. Immerse yourself in original features and history. Refuel in the spacious kitchen, refresh in the shower room, or unwind in the inviting roll-top bath. Retreat to one of two bedrooms or relax by the log burner. On sunny days, the enclosed garden invites you to bask in the warmth with a good book. Ideal for cyclists, ramblers, and dog owners with abundant nearby walks. Note: Potential for traffic noise.

The Space:
Enjoy exclusive use of the entire property and garden—a perfect base for exploring the surrounding routes, trails, and footpaths. Nestled in scenic countryside with river walks, the historic market town of Frome, featuring independent shops and cafes, is just a 25-minute walk away.

Given the property's age, it's better suited for older children due to the spiral staircase and stepped garden. However, families are welcome with vigilance. The second bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements.

Despite its age, the property boasts spacious proportions with 2m high ceilings. Dogs are welcome, but supervision is advised in the garden. Note that the property is by a road with occasional quarry traffic in the early mornings. Earplugs are recommended for light sleepers. Your comfort and safety are our priorities.

Guest Access:

While on-site parking is available, the location is perfect for a car-free holiday, with convenient access to public transportation and nearby attractions. Additionally, indoor storage is provided for up to four bicycles, catering to those who prefer eco-friendly and active modes of exploration during their stay.

We do have quiet hours between 8am and 10pm in respect of our neighbours.

Check in is at 4pm and checkout is at 10am. Early/late check-in/outs are available on request for a small fee.

We stayed for two nights for our annual visit to Longleat, which is only about 15 minutes drive away The house was in perfect condition and very old and rickety yet full of high-quality modern appliances It was a very relaxing and enjoyable short stay. I would recommend it to anybody.

Explorers Rest is wonderful

The cottage is gorgeous and beautifully furnished. My husband and I stayed here with friends. We were all very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Faith In Nature toiletries were a nice touch too. The cottage is well located just on the outskirts of Frome with a fabulous half hour walk along the riverside to the town centre. Frome itself is great and very dog friendly as are the neighbouring city of Wells and beautiful villages of Mells, Great Elms and Nunney.. Communication has been excellent and all requests dealt with quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend this property. Frome Frime but a 5 minute drive or a fab

Paradise to be revisited.

Loved the quaint quirky cozily furnished and thoughtfully equipped cottage. Would love to return to explore more of the beautiful surroundings and do some of the walks.
