Margarete Haus is a well-appointed bungalow situated just a few blocks off of Main Street, Fredericksburg's central thoroughfare. This peaceful getaway has two bedrooms each with a comfortable king sized beds and en-suite bathrooms. There is a fully equipped kitchen if you desire to cook and prepare meals or just keep a few of your favorite snacks and drinks on hand. Take advantage of the outdoor space offered at Margarete Haus, complete with an outdoor firepit, BBQ grill and Hot tub. Enjoy your stay at Margarete Haus which offers a romantic retreat for two or comfortable accommodations for a group of four!

- Quiet Time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, per City Ordinance
- If we are called due to complaints violating Quiet Time:
1st Offense will result in a $250 fine.
2nd Offense will result in a $500 fine.
If police are called, you are responsible for any fines or fees issued with the citation or warning. If police are called there will be a $500 fine, even if no citation is issued.
*Rates are based on double occupancy, there is a $35 charge per person, per night over 2 guests*

kitchen sink and toilet a little worn, could use updating. kitchen sink faucet hard to use. bed linens could be updated, felt worn. loved check in and check out service, location is great. was very quiet and slept great.

Great Stay

The house was impeccably clean and walkable to town. The hot tub was ready upon arrival and we were greeted by deer and hummingbirds each morning. Could not have asked for a better place to stay!

RENTERS BEWARE- THEY CHARGE EXTRA FEES

If I could give absolute charm management zero stars, I would. RENTERS BEWARE!!!!! The listing clearly states that this property sleeps four and we did not exceed four people. Extra fees are hidden behind “double occupancy” rates. For a two bedroom home that the listing states accommodates four people, the rate is actually for only TWO PEOPLE…. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU ADDITIONAL FEES IF YOU HAVE 4 PEOPLE (even if that is what the property accommodates). We were charged $35 pp/ night. We rented through VRBO, and the policy says “ extra person charges may apply and vary depending on property policy “. No set fees were published to their listing. The management was arrogant and unapologetic. This is clearly a money scam. Also, if you are going with the hopes of using a hot tub, good luck! After three minutes in the hot tub, we had to get out because our skin was itching and burning. When I took the trash out, I saw an empty bottle of muriatic acid. Obviously, the hot tub was over treated with chemicals and not safe to use. We were not advised of the chemically treated water prior to entering the hot tub. We have rented numerous vacation properties. We have never heard of this being “industry standard“. Totally unacceptable. There are many, many properties to rent in Fredericksburg Texas avoid Absolute Charm Properties.

Got what we paid for

The property was clean, functional, the hot tub was actuallt private, all in all my wife and i enjoyed our stay here. We never stay in same place twice but i would go back if needed. Location was good and back area backed up into woods. The house was in great condition. I felt i got my moneys worth with this stay. Management was nice and didnt bother me.

Great stay

Overall, this is a very nice property. It is very clean, comfortable beds and furniture, nice refrigerator and range, good central heating and air conditioning, nice soaps and other tissue amenities. Clarifying from other reviews, the bedrooms all have privacy slatted blinds and sheers on the windows. The windows in the sitting, dining, kitchen area are open or only have sheer curtains. One minor irritant was that because there is not a dishwasher, all dishes have to be washed by hand and the modern faucet assembly is attractive but oversized and set too high for the vintage sink. This causes a lot of splashing and makes it difficult to wash plates and larger pans.

A nice getaway

We enjoyed our stay here. We used the hot tub in the evenings and had the pleasure to watch several deer come on to the property. Even though it was just the two of us, it was nice having two bathrooms. Although we drove to get to Main St, it was close enough that it wasn’t inconvenient to anywhere we wanted to go. We did hang towels over the glass in the doors at night for privacy as well as the window in the kitchen.

Girl’s Trip

This an amazing property! So cute and exactly as described and pictured. Very clean and well appointed. Loved the backyard area with the fire pit and hot tub! We had an amazing weekend and would choose Margarete Haus again in a heartbeat!!

Great location with only one slight issue to consider

In short, this was a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, has nice amenities (hot tub, deer/wildlife, full kitchen, etc), and is a great location very close to downtown. My only reason for not giving this listing a full 5 stars has to do with privacy. It has been stated in quite a few of the reviews, but both the doors to enter the property have large windows in them. These really need to be frosted or have window coverings. Also, there is a large kitchen window with no covering. If the owner would listen to the reviews and fix those privacy issues the stay would be 5 stars for sure. That said, it was very clean and we would recommend the stay to others.

Great time. Simplistically elegant. Enjoyed the grill and hot tub. Beds very comfortable . I would have preferred the windows in living area and kitchen(by refrigerator ) have shades for safety and privacy.

Great cozy home and location.

Super clean. Super cozy. Great fast wifi. My only critique would be to put a tv in the bedrooms. Other than that it was a perfect stay. And that only critique is because my wife and I always wind down in bed watching tv before sleep.

Gorgeous and cozy

My mom and I came on a girls relaxation trip. The house was so charming! It is so nicely decorated, down to every detail. There were deer in our backyard every morning and evening! There was a relaxing hot tub, beautiful string lights, places to relax and enjoy coffee and wine both in the front and back. The beds were cozy, and again everything was so beautifully decorated!! We really enjoyed and appreciated the suggestions of things to do around town as well. I’d come back here anytime I’m in town!! And I’ll definitely be recommending this house to friends and family visiting Fredericksburg!!

Good but could be great

This was a great little place but there were a few things that could have made our stay even better. It would have been nice to have some waters and even a few snacks to have upon arrival. It also would be nice to have some coffee creamer that was not powdered and maybe even some tea options. If providing a fire pit then it would have been nice to have wood. These are little things that could have made it amazing.

Anniversary stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house looked exactly like the pictures. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The only 2 things that would have made it better would be to have more privacy with window coverings and steps for the hot tub. I’m short and it was difficult getting in with no steps. The bedrooms had blinds; however we prefer to have 100% privacy at night and the kitchen window and doors windows were all open. Overall, it’s an adorable comfortable place to spend your time.

Needed a Break

Everyone enjoyed a much needed break. The house was clean and cozy. Perfect for 2 couples. Only one small issue, the house has 2 bathrooms and only 1 shower, one bathroom only has a tub which is a little inconvenient when everyone is getting ready.
