"We have just returned from a couple of nights at Brewers Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and bigger than it seems from the photos. Foolow is convenient access to some lovely areas and walks in the Peak District, and just a 10-15 minute walk from the cottage is the local pub that does fabulous food and has very friendly staff. "Very easy experience from booking as great communication from the owner. This self catering rental has everything you need from a comfortable lounge to a fully equipped kitchen, I even cooked a full English breakfast! Surprisingly quiet considering it was on the second floor of a 3 story block accessible up 2 flights of concrete stairs therefore would not be suitable for less able bodied people. Taxis cost roughly £5 into town, however, the local bus stop is close by. Ample off street parking...

"Had a brilliant few days stay at the cottage, the phrase that comes to mind is home away from home. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. "The room is well renovated and everything works, mainly the shower. The breakfast is excelent, but expensive. There are some work in progress on the square in front of the reception, with the street interrupted, so the taxis and ubers sometimes don’t come to the right place. But it is a good location anyway to walk to the nice city centre of the (former) “steel city”, already converted to pedestrian streets. There was a fire alarm once in an ungodly hour, with everybody using the stairs to go out. It was not clear if someone in a given room made some smoke or if it was a failure on the programmed weekly fire exercise."
