Welcome to Alphaā€™s Log Cabin, the perfect getaway. Relax in the quiet of the woods on the covered porch and hear the sounds of babbling creek.

Step inside and you are greeted by warmth and comfort. The Living Room has a Sleeper Sofa, Wood Stove, Smart TV with streaming services, Board Games, and Books. You will find the Kitchen fully equipped. One Bathroom with a Clawfoot Tub and Shower. Large Loft bedroom with one Queen Bed and Twin. WiFi is provided.
A window air conditioner and window fan are installed in the summer months, even though the cabin usually stays at a comfortable temperature.
The cabin also has an outdoor fire pit (wood provided) and charcoal grill for your enjoyment.


Alphaā€™s Log Cabin is located five miles from the Historic Town of Franklin. In the area you will find hiking, hunting, fishing, kayaking, spelunking, rock climbing and golfing

Attractions within the county include Pike Knob, Nelson Sods, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob (highest point in WV) Nelson Rocks (Nation's Premiere Via Ferrata, outdoor zip lines) Smoke Holes, Yokumā€™s Stables (horseback ride to top of Seneca rocks) Warners Drive Inn and Swilled Dog Cidery.

It was a great Cabin and very well maintained! Very close to Franklin, Seneca Rock, and Spruce Knob! All great places we visited! And Fisher Mountain Golf Course is close and it was probably the coolest course Iā€™ve ever played at!

Getaway to west Virginia

My wife and I had an enjoyable 4 night anniversary stay at this little cabin. The drive back the lane made it feel away from the world but it was still only a couple miles from the quaint town of Franklin WV. Coffee on the front porch and sleeping to the sound of running creek water was a highlight!

Welcoming and cozy cabin

We loved our stay at this cabin. The property is very clean and has lots of little touches that make it homely and welcoming. The sound of the creek next to the cabin immerses you in nature. It is well connected to US Route 33, but far enough so you don't hear the sound of cars. Perfect getaway to disconnect and be in nature.

Couldn't be any better!

This was a short get away just to relax. We couldn't believe how thoughtful our host was. She thought of everything, and I do mean everything! We had a wonderful stay and were very appreciative of how nice the cabin is. We loved it and will be booking again in the future! Perfect place to just go and be quiet. I'd mark it more than 5 stars if I could!

Fantastic mountain cabin

We love this cabin. Itā€™s rustic and beautiful. If youā€™re looking for peace and serenity, this is the place. We canā€™t wait to come back when the leaves are on the trees. The stream that runs beside the cabin is just perfect. We couldnā€™t have asked for a better setting. There were fresh flowers, home baked cookies and homemade jelly waiting on the table for us when we arrived. The cabin is clean and cozy. Pretty sure my husband wants to move in full time!

The Coziest Cabin!

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday / Valentines Day. It was the perfect little cozy getaway from the moment we walked in the doors! Dinah had a fire going for us so it was already nice and warm, the cabin was super clean and looked just like the pictures if not better! Kitchen was stocked with utensils and cookware and made cooking our meals a breeze. No service but the WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. Absolutely zero complaints, we both loved it and will be coming back!

Almost too good to be true

For my wifeā€™s birthday weekend I surprised her with a trip to this mountain getaway, and it couldnā€™t have been more perfect. The hostess had a few birthday surprises for my wife which was very thoughtful. She was also very responsive when it came to contacting her for questions or for suggestions on what to do in the area. The cabin was amazing, very clean warm and inviting. Everything that you could need was available, from the bath towels to coffee maker. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and the streaming smart tv was a very nice touch. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a getaway retreat in the WV mountains!

Another peaceful and fun stay

We love the place. This was our second time at the cabin, so we knew what to expect. The first time we were there was in the summer when everything outside was green. This time we hoped for snow, but it rained all but one day. So we stayed indoors quite a bit, enjoying the popping sound of the fireplace. We are looking forward to returning when the weather warms up.

Anniversary Getaway

My wife and I stayed the weekend for an anniversary getaway. The cabin was perfect! It had everything we needed and was so cozy and comfortable. My wife especially enjoyed the old cast iron tub! We enjoyed exploring and off-roading with our Jeep durning the day, and cooking amazing meals together at night. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. Dianh was a wonderful host and very accommodating. We would definitely like to come back for another stay at some point.

Perfect getaway

Love the location nestled in the woods, the quiet brook burbling past the firepit, the homey pinewood interior, the fully stocked kitchen, the delicious jam and cookies gift. We stayed two nights while climbing Nelson Rocks and wish we had stayed longer. Thanks so much for your hospitality...if I owned a cabin like that, I'd never leave!

Welcoming Cabin

The log cabin is very welcoming, front porch decorated with flowers and ferns, extra blankets and throws for cold nights-even on the rocking chair and swinging bench on the porch. It is in the hills, very quiet with a small creek runnning along the side of the house. Franklin is not a touristy town but we ate at 3 good restaurants and the closest grocery store is surprisingly big, everyting you need. Overall a very good, restful vacation.

The coziest of cabins

Our stay in this cozy cabin could not have been more perfect! From the babbling brook to the tranquil surroundings, this spot is truly a slice of heaven! Check in could not have been easier and we were even greeted with jam and fresh apples! Neighbors were friendly in passing and we just enjoyed being unplugged for the weekend. We hiked, played in the creek, made campfires, laid in the hammock and enjoyed many games of Checkers on the front porch. It was a quintessential Fall weekend in WV and this little rustic cabin was absolutely perfect for our needs!

Amazing as Always

Just as clean, cozy, and comfortable as it was two years ago. We did a little more cooking inside than anticipated due to the weather, but found everything we needed, from a measuring cup to a little aluminum foil and plastic wrap. It really does feel like home while you are here.

Loved the location after we finally found it. The cabin was beautiful. Air conditioning not what we expected. We had to stop in Franklin to ask for directions to Johnson Hollow Road. Cabin very difficult to find
