Fossil Falls Trailhead

I’ve driven past several times and finally checked it out. Unfortunately the midday sun wasn’t conducive to photo quality. Off US395 about 5 miles south of Coso Junction you’ll find a turn off for Fossil Falls and a well maintained cinder road leading to a parking area. A short but rocky trail leads to Fossil Falls, formed by the now dry Owens River as it carved its way through the basalt rock. The trail is not well defined in some areas and can be rocky (not wheelchair accessible) but short enough to make for a few minutes walk. Use caution as the smooth rock can be slippery and lead to a nasty fall.
