A fenced garden wraps around the house where shaded patios set the pace with a covered table for eight at the front for long, lazy lunches, and a quieter spot for four at the back, with a barbecue on the lawn for warm Versilia evenings. Indoors, a welcoming living room with a sofa and air conditioning opens to the greenery, while the separate kitchen/dining room is fitted with a coffee machine, a dishwasher, an oven, a cooker hob and a fridge freezer perfect for family meals.

Three double bedrooms, one with an extra single, sleep up to seven, with two bathrooms and two private parking spaces keeping things simple. Best of all, the golden sands of the Versilia coast lie just a five-minute drive or a gentle twenty-minute stroll from the door.

Casa Colombo sits in a quiet, sunny residential pocket of Forte dei Marmi, one of the most elegant resorts on Tuscany\'s Versilia coast, loved for its long golden beaches, its smart boutiques and its easy seaside glamour. The sea is close by, about a five-minute drive or a twenty-minute walk away, while the centre of Forte dei Marmi, with its cafés and restaurants, lies around two kilometres from the house.

It makes a wonderful base for exploring Versilia and the Tuscany beyond. The sculptors\' town of Pietrasanta is about six kilometres away, the Liberty-era seafront of Viareggio around fifteen, and the marble quarries of Carrara roughly thirty. Historic Lucca, ringed by its Renaissance walls, lies about thirty-five kilometres off and Pisa, with its Leaning Tower, about forty, while the pastel villages of the Cinque Terre are around an hour and a half away by car.

Pisa International Airport is approximately a 30-minute drive from this holiday home in Forte dei Marmi.
