Beach Accesses: There are several convenient beach accesses! All you have to choose is how you want to get there; use the 6 seater golf cart, complementary tram (seasonal) or bikes! Below are 3 of the most popular accesses:


 


Gulf Lakes Beach Access: This is the closest access via Golf Cart! The Gulf Lakes access is a Walton County beach access located about 0.5 miles to the East of Prominence. This is a small access and can be easily missed.


 


Deer Lake State Park: Deer Lake is located 0.5 miles West of Prominence. While it is popular, there are a few things to keep in mind: There is a small parking area at the access (aprox. $3 for parking) Bathrooms are also available at the access. The walk from the parking area to the beach is a bit longer than most area accesses. IMPORTANT - Because this is a state park, and not a Walton County beach access, alcohol is not allowed. Beach service is not available at this location either.


 


Santa Clara: Santa Clara access is a Walton County, ADA approved, beach access located near Bramble Grove Road, about 3.5 miles to the west of Prominence. Parking and bathrooms are also available at the Santa Clara access. If you take the tram, please note that the hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Flip flop inn was a nice house. The owners should know that their management company was the worst.
The management company responded fairly promptly but they lied when they said that my complaints were addressed. Nothing was done. The bbq grill and the floors were very filthy. The fridge had a sign on the icemaker that indicated it needed a filter. Never took care of that. We have stayed at other houses on 30A and they were all perfect. I think I should get reimbursed for the rental.

Prominence fun on 30A
Overall we give the location a rating based on several factors. Our family comes to the 30A area 2-3 times per year. This year we decided to try out Prominence on 30A. The bad. 1-Seasonly Heated Pools does not included months of December or January. No hot tubs. 2-Beach Access. It is not an easy walk to the beach from your house. Gulf Lakes has no parking both over a mile walk. 3-Golf Cart. Upon arrival the cart was not working. Tool a couple days to get a new one. 4-Dryer. It was very poor. Drying a load of towels took 5+ hours each time. 5-30A was closed at Deer Lake making getting to Seaside/Seacrest a very long drive. Check if coming before April Now the Good. 1-The house has a great porch and space. Plenty of space for the 12 of us. Great area for the families to hang out. It is also very close to the Big Chill (Hub). Easy to walk and hang out. The Big Chill does close down pretty early each night. House was very clean and the management team was very attentive. 2 -Amenities. 5 bikes, golf cart, paddle boards, beach chairs and plenty of beach items. 3 -The pools are amazing (if they are warm or it is a warmer time of the year. 4-Parking. Plenty of parking behind the house and on the street. 5-Proximity to other great beach cities such as Alys and Rosemary I hope this helps when you are booking in the future. This location in the summer when 30A is open would be fabulous. But with no heated pools in the winter and 30A shut down, it gets a lower score from us.

Great House
This was a great house in an excellent location. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. Love the front porch. I wish there was beach access, but the pool is very nice! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to use the golf cart because of something to do with registration. We didn’t find this out until the night before by the management company. We were given a small refund. The bikes are a great feature!

Space for everyone
The house location is central to everything you needed to get to. The Hub was around the corner. The house is furnished beautifully and there is amble space for several families to have their space or to hang together. It was in very clean. There were a couple of questions on the first day and they were quick to answer all of them. The king room downstairs was very nice, but the bed is very high. We had to get a stool for our mother to get into the bed. The beach is a little further away than it looks. There was no shuttle. Not sure who you check with to see if the shuttle is still being offered. But the two locations listed to the beach, although not terribly far away, there was almost no parking. We had to drop people off and go back to pick them up. The lock to the downstairs bathroom is tricky, along with the patio doors. Check the side of the patio doors on how to lock the doors. Just so you know, if you have any issues with the bikes let the team know and they will have someone come and switch them out. We had one with a broken petal and they came and switched it out right away. Overall we loved the house and would love to stay there again. You always have a few items pop up but the team was quick to respond and correct everything.

Best Location Ever.
Everything was better than expected. Only issue we had was that the house had a golf cart, but it was broken the entire time we were there. We contacted the management team and they were very quick to respond, but then nothing happened. We paid $200 more per night to get a house with a golf cart, compared to another house in the area without one. We were given a $100 refund for the entire trip. My kids were super disappointed with this. If this place wasn't so nice, and the area wasn't so perfect I probably would have been more upset. SO word of advice, make sure the golf cart is working before you get there.

Over all disappointing
At first glance it is a very promising location, however from the very first day we had some issues. The biggest issue we had through the week was the dishwasher not being functional. It took a few days to get a service tech out the first time and the problem was not resolved resulting in another few days until it was fixed and functional. The only time it could be used was the night before we departed. We did have a fan motor go out on the upstairs AC unit which was resolved in roughly a day or so. Cleanliness was a bit of a problem with trash left from the previous people. Stuff like cups and bottles left on the front porch, cups and trash in the garage, it took about an hour to find the golf-cart key as it was buried under trash as well as the cooler still being filled with trash. These were the things that while small all build up into a some what frustrating stay. No spare trash bags, no paper towels, very little toilet paper, virtually no toiletries. These are just things that I would hope to expect when staying at a location like this in a nice community. It also appears that the last people who used the golf cart wrecked it because the 1 time we did try to take it out on the road the alignment was so bad it had death wobbles and 20 mph making for a very unpleasant drive unless you are going to the hub. I'm also not a huge fan of the stained couch in the living room. Yes, there are many nice features in this unit however my families over all take was that it was a little disappointing when all of these things build up.
