Hello Susana and thank you for your stay here at Rolo Beach Hotel. We have asked Expedia multiple times to add the same descriptions we have on our own website to theirs and they will not do so. It is true that we have 8 rooms located in the older 709 building and 17 rooms in the recently renovated 701 building. The older rooms are the 2 economy queen rooms, the 2 King Deluxe rooms, the 2 - 1 Bedroom deluxe rooms and the 2 - 2 bedroom Suites. Those rooms were last refreshed in 2019. Our new rooms in the 701 building are listed as different room types which are Junior Suites and King rooms. We did upgrade you for free to the new King room but would like to mention that when you booked, those rooms were listed as only 10 more per night then the King Deluxe we moved you from. This is due to the cost it took to renovate the 701 building. Some people actually do prefer the King Deluxe room since it has a kitchenette whereas the King rooms do not. Please consider altering your review as we certainly did not false advertise. I do agree with you however that Expedia does not include the language we do on our on very own site to make it more clear what we offer. We hope you enjoyed the new room at no additional cost and perhaps you will try us again now that the distinction is clear.

Dear Jean Luc: We list our our hours of operations on ALL websites as 9 am to 5 pm as we are just a small boutique hotel with limited staff. We also list that check in is from 4 pm to 5 pm and if arriving after 5 pm please contact us for our after hours check in procedure that we send via email. It is very detailed and even includes pictures to guide you. Because many people do not read this important information we also attempt to contact EVERY guest prior to arrival. We did this in your case on 1/7 and called the number provided. No return call was received by us. We then sent the afterhours check in email to the generic email address provided by Expedia (they own Hotels.com) with the instructions AND left a note on the door in case you did not check your Hotels.com reservation messages from us. When you arrived you never checked your Hotels.com messages and called the number left on the door. The owner then returned your call approximately 1 hour later but you had already made other arrangements through Hotels.com. The fact that when you called Hotels.com they did not even mention you had an email from us with ALL the instructions for the lock box that contained your keys is beyond us. Regardless we did do everything in our power to try and reach you prior to arrival and can show you time stamped emails of when we sent the after hours check in email.

Thank you Tracey for your stay and kind review. As mentioned we plan to demo the 709 building sometime in 2025 and build a new second building with all new rooms set to the same standard as the newly renovated rooms in 701.

Dear Jon. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay here in our least expensive room option. The Expedia extranet that controls our room listings is very limited in what they will describe. On our own website we clearly list the difference between the old 709 building (whose rooms only included a refresh after we purchased and converted from a time share) and the 701 building which house ONLY the newly renovated King rooms and the newly renovated Junior Suites. We will in fact demo the 709 building in a year or two. The price point however at less than 150 per night in season 3 blocks from the beach we feel is on par for what you get. Perhaps you could try our newly renovated rooms in the future to see what our vision for the future is. There are 17 of those rooms.
