Manitou Lodge is perfectly situated in Forks, Washington. Our accommodations provide guest rooms, cabins and camping on ten acres of coastal rainforest, just 3 miles from Rialto Beach, and 15 minutes west of Forks. Manitou is what a lodge should be – wood, stone, a Great Room with a massive stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and furniture you can put your feet up on. Nights in our forest are silent except for the distant rush of the Sol Duc river and occasional interruptions by coyotes and owls.
Originally built in 1970, our Forks WA Lodging is a built around a classic lodge structure whose most striking feature is a huge vaulted-ceiling Great Room with a massive stone fireplace. The numerous couches and chairs in this room provide the space to be with others, and, at the same time, to be private. The Lodge also is home to our lovely Gift Shop which features Native American and Pacific Northwest art, decor, jewelry and more.
Step Outside and Experience the Pacific Northwest
Situated on ten acres of coastal rainforest, our Forks WA Lodging is just about as far west as you can get in the lower 48 states. The property’s hemlocks and spruce are still imposing, and there’s a Western Hemlock on the property well over 1000 years old. The grounds include wonderful trails, bits of whimsy and lovely spots to picnic.
Summer is a delight with sunshine and temperatures that rarely rise above 80 F. With winter come the fish. Local rivers (Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Calawah, Hoh) offer world-class salmon and steelhead fishing. We also experience powerful winter storms which shape our coastline. It’s worth a dose of rain and wind in the face to witness one of these, especially when a couch, fire and warm bed are just a couple of minutes away.
SELF CHECK-IN: Any time after 3pm (no early arrivals, please). Find the card with your name on it at the front door and follow check-in instructions inside. With the convenience of self check-in at our Forks Washington accommodations, you can take your time and arrive at your convenience. AFTER DARK ARRIVALS: It will be VERY DARK and there are no street lights. Please be quiet and courteous of other guests while getting to your site. Having a flashlight available will also be helpful.
There is something for everybody any time of year in the Olympic National Park and Forks Washington. Explore wilderness beaches such as Rialto Beach, hike in the moss-draped beauty of the Hoh rainforest, fish the plentiful rivers of the region, or enjoy sightseeing. Forks is also the setting for the Twilight Saga, and hosts the Forever Twilight Festival every fall.
We’re located just a 45 minute drive from the Hoh Rainforest and Sol Duc Hot Springs, and about an hour from Cape Flattery (most Northwestern point in the lower 48 states) and the Makah Reservation and Cultural Museum at Neah Bay. Rialto Beach, spectacularly rugged and log-strewn, is just 3 miles away. The Quileute Tribe resides 9 miles away at La Push, as well as First Beach at LaPush and Olympic National Park’s Second and Third Beaches (not to be confused with Beaches 1-3 south of Kalaloch).
Rialto Beach, the only drive-to beach in the immediate area, is a spectacular, driftwood-strewn beach on the north side of the Quileute river about 3 miles from the Manitou Lodge. The surf is generally heavy, the driftwood logs huge, and the sunsets are magnificent. The Rialto crescent extends for about 1.5 miles and ends with two towering sea stacks, tidal pools, and “Hole-in-the-Wall”, a surf-carved tunnel in a headland. The 18 mile hike north from Rialto Beach to Cape Alava is a favorite with backpackers.
First, Second and Third Beaches extend south from the mouth of the Quileute River. These beaches are long, flat crescents popular with photographers due to sea-stacks (a well-known sea-stack complex, the “Quileute Needles”, lies just offshore), tidal pools, and eagles. Access to Second and Third Beaches requires hikes of 0.5 to 1.5 miles, respectively. The headlands at First Beach and Second Beach can’t be passed, but one can backpack south from Third Beach along the coast for about 17 miles to Oil City.
The Hoh Visitor Center is about 30 miles from us, and the Hoh Rainforest is possibly best known attraction in the Olympic National Park. Average annual rainfall in the Hoh Valley is in excess of 150 inches, and has a spectacular effect on the vegetation. Along the “Hall of Mosses” Trail, the moss-draped maples are extravagantly green year round, so much so that somebody has written that the air appears to be jade-colored. The Spruce Trail follows the glacier-carved Hoh river maple and red alder “bottom”. Scenic raft trips are available in summer along the Hoh River, and guides can be contracted throughout the year for fishing and scenic trips.
Other regional activities near Forks Washington include world-class fishing, mountain-biking, hiking in the Olympic mountains and along the wild beaches that comprise the Pacific Coast portion of the Olympic National Park, or a visit to Cape Flattery, the most Northwestern point in the lower 48 states. A boardwalk recently completed by the Makah Nation, on whose lands the Cape sits, has considerably eased the hike. The views of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Tatoosh Island, and Vancouver Island from the Cape cliffs are inspiring. While visiting the Cape, you won’t want to miss the outstanding Makah Cultural Center and Museum at Neah Bay. These are just a sampling of the possibilities on the West End. For a more comprehensive look, consult some of the links listed below and visit the Forks Chamber of Commerce Five Day Guide to the West End. Twilight fans won’t want to miss a stop in Forks, WA.

Take the word "rustic" in the most literal sense here. This is a VERY misleading listing. I don't know how it has gotten any positive reviews. Read everything very carefully to see if this is right for you.
The main photo is NOT the cabin you will stay in - it is the nearby lodge. The listing says bathroom and wifi - which is COMPLETELY FALSE. There is NO bathroom on the property. There is a shared portapotty outside nearby. There is NO wifi in this cabin. There is only wifi in the lodge.
There is NO shower in the room. You have to walk to the one shared outdoor shower in the adjacent campground - one shower for everyone. You share the shower with the bugs and the weeds growing in but a positive note is the water is hot.
In all fairness to the owner, if you do read all the fine print details, most of these things are explained in one sentence but they are misleading - especially when you do a specific search for private bathroom and shower and this pops up when it clearly isn't. It is partly my fault for not understanding the details thoroughly enough.
The price for what you get is completely outrageous.
Although both were very small, the bed and cabin were comfortable.
The only great thing about the property was the friendly cat.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY.

Pontos negativos: Limpeza
This cabin is almost big enough for a single person. A couple with luggage, not so much. The first thing we noticed was the hose that supplied water to the cabin was leaking on the porch, and by the look of the slime under the leak, it's been that way for quite a while. We were a little shocked by the smell of the cabin. There is outdoorsy scent, then there is the smell inside. Not welcoming at all. The dishwasher liquid was an after thought, very small amount in the open bottle on the sink shelf.
Two knives, two spoons, one fork, 3 napkins for two people for 3 days? Two bath towels, no paper towels or hand towels to dry our hands. The shower is a small shack, two curtains, rock floor, and it was expected that we would carry some off brand, wash it all with us to shower. No thank you. Being right next to an outhouse was not pleasant at all. We were so disappointed, we left a day early. Not a great stay. Oh and only one window with a screen. Spiders, cobwebs all over... wish there was another screened windows for air flow. We had to spend money to purchase a fan just to move the stagnant air. The reviews made this sound so fantastic, but in reality, it was nothing like them. For the cost per night, we were... speechless. Not at all as expected.

Affordable place to stay
The place was nice, but very small. The only bathroom is a porta-potty and the shower is a shared between all guests of the entire campground, which was not clearly defined in the listing. There is no cell service, so communication once arriving is very difficult.

Don't
July 4th weekend. Port a potty's all full and smelly, too close to Outback cabin. Steps are wet and slippery. So don't go out to the potty at midnight. No screens on any window but one, so no cross ventilation. One shower for 20 tent sites, 4 cabins. Full sized bed in water closet, 3 windows ( one with screen), wet/slimy porch. Overall, a 2 out of 10. Bed was extra cozy for the 2 of us.

Manitou Lodge is gorgeous! The lodge itself is amazing: rustic vibe with elk skins, lots of oversized furniture, games, books and big pillows. It would be perfect for a special occasion. If you are interested in the tent sites, number 3, 6, 7, and 9 are the largest and nicest in my opinion.I stayed at the Outback cabin which is the smallest cabin available. There is another next to it called the Outback II and another larger cabin near the entrance. The cabin was clean and cozy. There was a cute red mini fridge, Keureg, plates, silverware, towels and microwave. I have stayed at a lot of cabins and none of them offered such amenities. The shower is a really cool Rain Shower with heating, lighting and a large square shower head that feels like standing in the rain. The hot water is actually hot! It's so nice and it's not coin or token operated - free to use during your stay! The trail leading around the campsites is great for walks. There are old growth trees to keep you cool on hot days. There are multiple outhouses and sinks with potable water. Kilmer Road leads to the main highway (101 Spur) which will take you Rialto Beach or back to Highway 101 where you can take the La Push road exit to First, Second, Third and La Push beaches. If you're into hiking, biking or running there is ample opportunity to engage in your favorite outdoor activity. The ocean is amazing! Justin the host is kind and accommodating! Please be kind to him! He is great! Always available!

Multiple spiders, bugd and mold in the shower. The toilet wreaks and hasn't been cleared in months based on amount of feces everywhere. This listing is misleading with pictures of the lodge that you're not even allowed to go in or use the bathroom. No signal of any kind. We booked for two days but ended up leaving the morning after the first night. I wouldn't pay fifty for this dumpster hole, much less two hundred!! What an absolute RIP OFF

Cabin was extremely small, no tables to set food or items on and the small space heater did not work. It was clean with a comfortable bed and had a microwave and coffee maker that worked. Comfortable enough for a one night stay, but the porta-potty and shower she'd were a bit rough in the cool temps

Great little cabin. It had a comfy bed, sink, microwave, keurig, and a mini fridge. The portapotty was incredibly clean. The shower facilities are top notch too! We liked the various seating areas in the lodge and the close proximity to the river. I messaged the host about check in because I didn’t receive instructions but didn’t get a response. When we pulled up we found our name and information on a bulletin board. Unfortunately I didn’t receive check out instructions until after we had already left.

Small cabin
Although I was a little surprised at how small the cabin actually was, we made it work for us. Didn't like that the restroom was not in with the cabin, but after the initial impression, we were a little okay with it. It was clean, cabin and bathroom, we did love the location, and the property was really pretty and among some huge beautiful old growth trees.

Tiny cabin
For us this tiny cabin with a bit too small. We are both in our 70s and felt very cramped in this space. It was a great space to just sleep. For us making meals in the space was extremely difficult. It was just too cramped and crowded for our taste. The bathroom and shower are in another building between two cabins. I was not aware of this when I booked or I would have made another choice. The owners are new to this facility and are in the process of making upgrades. They were very delightful to work with any problems we had. Next time I would book in the lodge itself.
