"The cottage was attractively decorated and furnished and was very well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The information handbook was comprehensive.It was very clean and well maintained and was also in a wonderful location with beautiful scenery all around it.The only downside was the bathroom and the lack of shower screen and wall mounted shower. "The house was marvellous, spacious and charming but modern too. The kitchen area was clean, with lots of quality appliances and kitchen utensils, beds were very comfortable, the showers, bath and toilets were very clean and modern and in good working order.It's in a great location with lovely views and quick access by car or foot to nearby Kirkby Stephen. The nearby stream/beck provided hours of fun for the 8 year old with us. All in all a lovely holiday experience."

"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
