Scala Family Home with Garden

Our family-sized house will welcome you right in the center of Florence in a very quiet inner courtyard a few steps from the central station of Santa Maria Novella, Duomo, San Lorenzo market, Leopolda, Fortezza da Basso, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and other attractions. After a day of work or tourism, you can relax in our small oasis in the city center.
The house is located 100 meters from the central station and 150 meters from the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, 10 minutes walk from the Fortezza da Basso, famous for fashion events such as Pitti Uomo, Pitti Filati, Pitti Bimbo and other food fairs handicrafts and various art exhibitions. Also at 10 minutes you will find the Stazione Leopolda known for its congresses and conferences. Next to the Leopolda there is also the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, a multi-purpose cultural facility, where you can enjoy opera, concerts and dance performances.
At 400 meters from home there are 2 supermarkets and in front of the house a mini supermarket for basic necessities.
All major attractions can be reached on foot in 10-15 minutes from home such as Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi. If, on the other hand, you are a fan of designer shopping, check out the most famous outlets in Florence, The Mall and Barberino where you will find all the major fashion brands; just take the bus behind the house which is a 2-minute walk away.
If you are traveling with friends or relatives, we have another apartment available on the same roof. This is why our house can also be suitable for two families or two groups of friends traveling together, one can stay on the ground floor apartment and the other on the first floor apartment. Of course you have to make sure before booking that both apartments are free during the same period.
The house has just been renovated and is equipped with every comfort, including air conditioning. The apartment with the garden is composed of a double bedroom, a single bedroom with bunk beds, a modern bathroom with shower and an additional service, an open space with living room and dining area (maxi sofa bed - flat TV - high speed wifi ), complete kitchen with dishwasher and a charming garden with relaxation area, where in summer you can have lunch or dinner or have a barbecue with friends. There are two supermarkets within 400 meters walk from the apartment where you can buy everything you need. If, on the other hand, you don't feel like cooking, just leave the house and choose a restaurant, bar or wine bar of your choice or have a drink on the many terraces overlooking the Duomo. You really have everything at hand. But you can also decide to stay at home and relax while sipping a good glass of chianti.

The apartment is for the exclusive use of guests. The mezzanine floor laundry is in common use with our other apartment located on the first floor.

In the laundry room you can find:
- washing machine / laundry basket
- vacuum cleaner
- kit snot tissue
- swifer
- small sink. The house is easily accessible by public transport.
Strategic area as it is adjacent to the center and within walking distance of every means of transport (train, bus, tramway, taxi).
From the Florence airport the shuttle or the tram will take you in just 15 minutes to the central station Santa Maria Novella, the only stop from which we are 4 minutes away on foot. If you come by car, you can park at the underground car park of the station or in one of the nearby garages for a fee. You can also park on the blue lines, always for a fee. Nearby there are buses that will take you to destinations outside the center such as Piazzale Michelangelo, Fiesole, Chianti etc.

We have 2 apartments available in our family house:

1) Garden staircase with lovely garden on the back yard / 6 beds
2) Scala Terrace with terrace and balcony / 6 beds

Therefore our house is suitable for two families of friends traveling together, one can stay on the ground floor (Scala Garden) and one on the first floor (Scala Terrace). Obviously check if you are available in the same period before booking.
If you stay with us, do not need the car to move. You are already in the city center, only 2 minutes away from the central station where busses, trains, taxis and tramways are available.
From Florence airport to shuttle bus or tramway will take you to the station in only 15 minutes or you can take a taxi.
If you arrive with your own car, we need to have a parking place, so you need to park in one of the garages nearby (a big one is under the central station) or in one of the private garages - better if you book in advance! You can pay for the tickets on the street.
The house is situated 100 meters from the Central Station and 150 from the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, 10 minutes walk from Fortezza da Basso (famous for its fashion events and other fairs as Pitti Uomo, Bimbo, etc.), Leopolda Station, Theater of Maggio Musical where you can enjoy an evening of classical music, opera or ballet.

At the major Florence attractions such as Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Boboli Gardens are reachable in 10-15 minutes walk.
If you love shopping and the Italian brands you can't miss a day at either the Mall or Barberino outlets. To reach both, there is a dedicated bus just 2 minutes walk from our house.
